Time for India to stand together

Dear Friends,

I know that this is not connected to Tamil Film Music. But, I think it is the time again for our nation to be one, against every adversary and every one who thinks evil of our country.

I hope we will all come together as one, bring about every thing that we can do for our country - including, if neccessary - sweat and blood. I know that my friends in this forum will agree with me.

  we need Patriotism for sure... i agree with that.... but WAR - that too at this stage - is that really needed ? i really don't see any reason why *all* of a sudden there is this WAR cry..... may be iam missing something..... looks like BJP wants to hide all the problems they face under the WAR stuff.... hmm... people voted to these guys thinking they will be different from CONGRESS - but BJP is proving that they are EQUAL to congress..... hmm.....   I agree that we would be much better off without war, but presently the provocation is the killing of the family of army people in Jammu.
  What kind of morale do you think the army on the border ,on high alert for the last 6 months, must be having?
  Again this doesnt mean that we need to fight a war
  but we need to recognize that its not just a political gimmick

  Hope there is no war !! I really dont care if Pakistan is destroyed in whole.. but think if only 2 states in india are destroyed in retaliation.. it will be a massive devastation !!
  
  they are cowards and are used to covert operations.. what if they use a nuclear weapon when tehy find out that they are losing.. Since, we aare deep down in the south , there is no fear for us .. but think of the states near the border..
  
  One .. there should be no war ..
  Two.. if there is one, they should not even be given time to attack us !!!!

  The war will serve no one except the venal politicians who want to divert public attention from their colossal follies. "Cross-border terrorism" is their fig leaf, but ultimately, Musharraf and Vajpayee will stop playacting the moment the master puppeteer Bush mama's hands will tire of this game. What better way for the US and developed world to keep their defence industries going, but to stoke the fires in various unfortunate parts of the world? Did you know that our soldiers who guard the borders have no proper clothing or food and are dying of frostbite and malnutrition? While the babus are flying to Sweden and South Africa to buy antiquated defence equipment for king's ransom?
  
  The costs of war will be tremendously devastating for millions of people across either nations. While Pakistan can live with tinpot dictatorships and dig itself deeper into quicksand for all we care, we can never let a war drag our developmental clock by several decades. Not to mention the loss of lives allround...
  
  I'm sure the public posturing will stop once the remote controls get active. If insanity takes us beyond this brink, god save our brothers and sisters who get caught in the crossfire

  Sarat - yes, our ARMY people deserved more than any one of us deserve.... my irriatation was - our politicians are not bothered about that - they r crying WAR only cause to divert people attention....
  
  Vinod - i agree with u.... in the movie "kando.. Kandukondeen", there will be a vasanam by Mamootty (who had gone with IPKF, and lost his leg in the battle) - "we did not get hurt when we were attacked in Srilanka.... what hurt most was when we came back to India (Chennai), there was no one to welcome us.... appa thaan ninaichoom, yarukaaga poradinomnu"..... it pained me a lot.... i am putting my head down for not having stood and saluted my army men - who went to bring peace - and were made scape goats by politicians....

  A person who did the laundry in our street died of TB. No body cared, including me! But when kargil issue every one of us donated the money.

  I was busy, so couldn't answer you people.
  
  Firstly, I don't think I said anything FOR war. My request was to stand together. Guess, it will take still 50 more years for that to happen from what you say.
  
  So, India is poor, rabid, hungry, diseased, worthless, hopeless, full of ugly dark Hindus... according to what you people say. So, India doesn't deserve to be a country, and moreover if people get killed in one of the states, by 1000s and 10,000s it doesn't matter since it is a poor country, and ofcourse it is just a bunch of jawans - why should we care. Is that your logic? Sorry, I shouldn't have asked you to stand together. Let India go to hell, we have TB, dogs, cats, AIDS to take care of, why go and kill innocent Pakistanis staying peacefully doing no harm to India?

  Whatever be the cause of the war - whether war comes or not,it is need or not I can assure you that people who have gone all the way to Canada from India - will be there to fight for India on the border with our enemies. Simply because India needs us, and I don't think we need any other reason.

  All this talk about "jingoistic" patriotism as voiced by several is lop sided. The war that we seem to be engaged in, is not the kind that is being portrayed in myriad Hindi films (like the insipid MAA TUJHE SALAAM, INDIAN etc)
  
  Think about this - the death of 7000 and odd people in the WTC-Pentagon disaster of September 11, 2001, was ample justification for the USA to bombard Afghanistan with bombs and artillery. The death of over 70,000 innocent people and jawans in J & K in the last 15 years is more than ample justification for India to use nuclear weapons and destroy the entire race in Pakistan - let the whole world call it genocide - we would not care less
  
  What is happening in West Asia ? after the death of Jesus Christ, the Jews spread all over Europe, while few stayed back in Palestine. Those who stayed back became a part and parcel of the Arab community. The Jews who spread throughout Europe and later the Americas, began showing their acumen in business, trade and finance; throughout the last 1000 + years, the European christian community had a distrusting, condescending attitude towards the jews. And during this period, the only true genuine friends of the jews were the Arabs!
  
  In 1945, after the Nazi genocide, when the jews gathered together and set out to go back to their promised land, what did they to ? they forcibly took away the land from Palestine and christened it Israel! innocent Palestinian women, children, who had sheltered the very same jews earlier were butchered - how strange is human nature!
  
  And the result/consequence ? well, the Arab world comes together and vows to take back the land, which the Jews had forcibly taken away from Palestine - now the entire 'Christian' world as represented by the European and N.American 'whites' have joined hands with the Israeli jews to preserve the land (referred to as the "Promised land" in a famous religious book!) against the 'hostile, malicious' Arabs! THis is history for you!
  
  We sheltered the Mughals and their wares, very much forgetting their atrocities and what is happening today ? Coimbatore, the most peaceful city that one can ever think of, was witness to a serial bomb blasts in February 1998 - death count in 100s and several more maimed for life (and our superstar Rajinikanth even made a statement 'namadhu islamiya sagodharargal idhai seidhirukkavey maattaargal' when everyone knew it was Al Humma, an Islamic fundamentalist group which did it and btw, most local Muslims knew about the bomb blasts even before they took place - well, that was our superstar capitalising on the bomb blasts to retain his 'minority viewer bank', not 'vote bank'! this is a different kind of dangerous politics which most of our film stars indulge in)
  
  Who cares for internal security ? are you self-styled patriots sitting in plush apartments in the West, bothered about the present scenario in India? Talk to anyone from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, UP, West Bengal - and then you will understand the roots of their animosity towards one particular community
  
  That the majority community in India is vehemently opposed to Pakistan's machinations go beyond doubt. To stay united, we need everyone from India (representing all religious groups) to stay united - you have a majority from the minority groups always complaining about the conditions here, not realising that the Indian economy is the fourth largest growing economy today
  
  With our huge economic backup, we can afford to maintain an army along the borders in a 'preparatory' state of war - but, Pakistan with a sick economy cannot sustain an army the same way - thus, all this talk about war is to force Pakistan to spend its meagre economic resources in a wasteful expenditure - nothing more, nothing less
