  Not now, Rex. I am yet to listen. Actually, my machine doesnt have a sound card. So, I have to depend on my neighbour to leave the office to listen and this being a dependency on his (not insubstantial) idiosyncracies, I need weekends and holidays to catch up. However, given the quality you have been providing I am sure these will also be of mind-blowing quality.
  I have heard the songs when they were released :
  
  1.Hona hai to ho hi jayega(pothi vecha) is royally spoilt by mano.
  2. Naina bole naina by asha(kaatril)..well what canI say..asha is simply not upto the mark.
  
  I havent heard the other ones.
  
  Great that u managed the instrumental versions rather than the actual songs:)

  Sorry for requesting a song which is already present in ur collection., actually i started browsing ur site when the number of songs was 70 or something., i usually put 'Continous play' so that i can listen to new songs ( currently uploaded ) everytime., so somehow i missed this song., sorry again !
  'Enakkena oruvarum illaamal poonaalum.,' is an excellent piece of melody., TO my knowledge it is not there in net. Pls. upload it for us ! Another IR song that i remember & request now is 'enna enna kanavu kaNdaayoo., maanee vaazkkai oru kanavuthaanammaa.,' from Valli., God., sometimes i love IR's voice - in particulart songs like this !

  Hi Rex,
  
  The BGM pieces were good, except that the Bass was high. In fact, when IR composed songs in 1980s he already boosted Bass while recording. He could do this compared to other MDs that time, because he had taken training in using multi-channel recording. So, I felt the high frequency components were sort of suppressed in the recording.
  
  I still have request for three songs.
  
  1) Ananda Raham, Ezhil mevum pookal thoovudae... nanam parkudae... Adikadi
  thudikayil neram parkudae.....
  A beautiful song by SPB(is there a female singer?). I love this song. Is it non-IR song. If so this song request can be ignored.
  
  2) Pari Jatha Poovae Anda Deva Logha Therae Vasantha Kalam Neril Vandadhu... Manmada Raham Padi Vandadhu....OvaOvaOvo...
  
  I don't know the names of the movies in which these appeared.
  
  If anybody knows, please let me know. May be I can atleast try catching it using VCR.
  
  Yes, Rex, Have you thought of this idea? Take the song from VCR output into the sound card and process it may be using packages like Goldwave, until it sounds better. And then can be converted to RealAudio form. But, it is too much of work for setting up initially.

  Hi Rex,
  
  the song "MuthuMani Malai.." is wonderful. It feels to me that the timing between saying "Thottu Thottu" matches with time interval Tabla sounds.
  In that case, the sense of perfect synchronisation between singer and the music, is an art which IR has mastered.

  Why, in the song, "Muthu Mani Malai...", the lyrics says "uthamarum Neethanae". Isn't it should be "uthamanum Neethanae" or if respect has to be given everywhere "Neerthanae" could have been used. Who is the lyrics writer for the song. How come he/she can be so careless with the Grammer of Tamil. I wonder....

  The lyrics for CHINNA GOUNDER was written by Director R.V. Udhaya Kumar. He always tries to write things which only he can understand. For example: "Kalangum Pothu Seru athu vilagum pothu neeru.....", "Manjalile oru nool eduthu antha vinnukum mannukum sambantham undunu sonnathu yaru". What does all this crap mean??? The songs in this films were instant hits only due to Raaja's melodic tunes.....I miss Vairamuthu here... IR-Vairamuthu combination always produced the stuff. For ex: Mudhal Mariyathai also had folk tunes very much like Chinna Gounder. But just see how the lyrics are....Just great!!

  Those lyrics do have a meaning w.r.t the movie. "Manjalile oru nool eduthu.." refers to Vijaykanth proposing to Sukanya by placing a thali under the plantain leaf on which he eats during the feast provided by Sukanya. Of course, you know who is supposed to be vaanam and who is supposed to be mannu :-) If you have not seen the movie, The sequence is one in which Sukanya invites the whole village for a feast which is sort of a village tradition to collect money to pay off debts. The guests place whatever money they can under their plantain leaves to help the host pay off his/her debt. VK helps Sukanya out of her misery by asking for her hand in marraige and this he does by "manjalile oru nool (thali) eduthu, andha vinnukum mannukum sammandham undunnu..."
  
  "Kalangum pothu seru, adhu theliyum pothu neeru.." is also pretty straight-forward. I do not remember the exact sequence, but VK comes under fire from the villagers (I think for taking the blame for impregnating Sukanya's sister, of course - for which he is not actually responsible). RVUK says that when things are unclear, they appear disquieting. But once the dust settles, Vijaykanth's pure character will come on display.
  
  Not so far off the mark taking the big picture into consideration, I would say. I may not have done a good job of explaining here, but I hope you got the general idea !
