AmarkaLam
Bharadwaj

Songs of amarkaLam have grown on me ever since i watched the movie. Bharadwaj has done a marvellous job by using SPB in an apt manner and his scores for unnodu vazha by chitra and sontha kuralil paada by kumari shalini are excellent. It is worth buying this album (CD availabe with nenjinile, manase manase fame), IMO.

1. saththam illaatha thanimai kaetten. VM has written 89 lines of poem in his non-filmy style, and bharadwaj has scored well by using SPB vividly. SPB makes a grand finale of the song by notching up very high in pitch as in shankara....

2. sontha kuralil paada aasai , kurmari shalini makes a nice debut here by asking susheela aunty, janaki aunty, kuyil chitra to excuse her on her arrival. Is she sending signals of her over(throwing)whelming popularity that is in the future?

3. maegangal ennai thottu ponathundu, the pick of the album, IMO. SPB pours expressions with zest and zeal as he did for many IR scores. Nice orchestration by bharadwaj without much ado. VM has poured with emotions once again.

4. unnodu naan vaazha , chitra in her usual sweet voice rendering for a nice , brisk , bouncy tune .

5. kaalam kali kaalam , bharadwaj himself and chorus. Typical dance master song in which master plays the anchor role with all fancy movements!

6. enna seithai, by srinivas, just another song to make the album complete!

You can listen to the top 4 songs here
1. saththam illaatha thanimai
2. sontha kuralil paada
3. megangal ennai thottu
4. unnodu naan vaazha

A refreshing approach to tamil pop.Paarvai has serious music with a lot of feel, sincerity and hard work. As it is bilingual, certain songs might lack nativity, but music in general is amazing. VIJAY TV has co branded the album. good for tamil pop. looks like a lot of such things are coming up very shortly. Congrats Shrinivas.
