Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj will be addressing NJ Tamil sangam this evening.
He has already visited DC, Connecticut, NC and will be visiting Chicago, Houston[?],LA in the next few days.

I read that Thiruvasagam CD will be released in Washington in July. Is it so..? But i already read that it will be released in London (in another mag.)
Which is true..?

As any info. posted here immediately invite the negative critics to post nasty comments, we have been informing the TiS donors on a private forum on the developments. That doesn't mean that we will not post here. Here it is.
1.Fr. is still in USA and is currently in LA meeting with a few promising sponsors right now.
2.His visits to Conneticut, NJ, NC and Chicago have been very fruitful with pledges which will show up when IIR visits USA in the next fortnight.
3.IIR has since returned from S'pore and is waiting for a corrected version of English lyrics from Mr. Stephen Scwartz to complete the symphony score.
4.We are waiting to hear from the Budapest Orchestra for their available dates to record the symphony. We will keep you posted on this.
5.Please send in your share of contributions, if you may.
6.If any of you are desirous of joining the TiS forum, pl. get in touch with us to the above id.

I understand that IR is releasing the symphony during the FETNA on July 4th. Is that still on schedule? Will IR be done with recording before that date? Pl clarify...

No! we said that FeTNA jumped the gun in anticipation. But IIR will BE coming to FeTNA and TNF conventions as of today. The Budapest Orchestra has given the dates of their availability in July only and this has caused the re-scheduling.
What more, IIR will be in US from 17-22 this month. Pl. e-mail us for details.

"Thiruvasakam in Symphony" is a grand musical project which aims to
set to tune, verses from the Tamil spiritual literature Thiruvasakam,
in symphonic form. Thiruvasakam is a collection of divinely inspired
songs, composed in the seventh century by the great South Indian saint
and poet Manickavasagar. The music for Thiruvasakam in Symphony will

About the composer

Maestro Ilaiyaraja is a living music legend. Since 1976 he has
composed original scores for over 850 movies, in six different
languages. Ilaiyaraja has also composed several instrumental albums,
such as How To Name It and Nothing But Wind, in which he collaborates
with the renowned flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Winner of the national "Best Film Music Composer" award on three
occasions, Ilaiyaraja has also received several awards from the Tamil
Nadu state government and several universities throughout the world.
In June 1994 he received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters

I need a big big favor,
Is there a gathering in NJ definitely, if so could you please tell us the time, date and venue. I am very eager to attend with some of my friends, I missed it last time.
Is there a possibility for a gathering in NY? Did any of you approach Tamil Sangham in NY regarding the same?
How about a gathering in Ganesh Temple in Flushing, with some aggressive advertisement, we could gather more people and possibly donation on a week end at Flushing temple.

There might be a possibility of a gathering with Maestro in NY Metro area ( still in the process of being organized) so please visit this thread for updates and confirmed venue. This will be really a great opportunity for those who have always wanted Maestro's music reach globally especially thro' Thiruvasagam to participate and contribute to the project.
