Hi All TFMers
I always think if is it possible to organize a meeting in a common place. We all discuss and argue but most of us dont know each others. Why dont we vote on a place to meet and date. Then we can see if see could really work this out. Your comments are welcome.

that's a nice idea. where are you located?

can we have tfm chapters in key cities like chennai, singapore, malaysia etc and organise some events on a periodic basis?

perhaps we can even swap casettes and cds!

I think that's a very good idea, but how do you think it could be achieved, with DFers located all
over the globe ? Badri's idea of a TFM chapter also sounds good to me.

I'm game for any initiative of this kind. So, count me in !

I am based in Montgomery Village, outside Washington, D.C., but am currently in exile in Atlanta. But I'll be returning in about 6 weeks ! I would love to be an active member. The fact that we are spread all over the globe makes it much more interesting. We could start off with continental chapters and then think about localizing them. Ravi, Rajaraman, any hopes ? :-)

its true the world is fast becoming a smaller place.. but not physcically...

we are all spread out into different corners of the world. It would be the greatest thing to happen if we were to meet at one place.

First we would have to take a list of people interested and see where most of the people are from.. then decide about the venue...

I live in San Jose, California. I know Mannaru is also from SJ although we haven't got together yet, it's all my fault since Mannaru offered to hang out. I also remember seeing many DF-ers mention Sunnyvale and other Bay Area cities so it should be possible to get together. I like the idea of regional chapters yet wonder at the practicality of getting together physically. And let me ask this guys, what will we do that we don't do on the TFM page? I'm not being discouraging, only curious. While you guys iron out the how and when, maybe we could all get into a chat room for a group conference and just brainstorm for fun. Any takers?

Guys,
That would be great . Iam more thrilled about the fact that if we do get together there should defenitely be a twin deck cassette player with a CD player too. Wow how much of TFM can be exchanged talked about and taped. That would really make it memorable.

Hi,

Arvind, I am in Bangalore too. The idea of a meet is good. Answering Udaya's question as what needs to be done in such a meet, we can have :

1. TFM ers showing off their musical talent. Singing, Guitaring etc.

2. Anthakshari of some sort

3. Some glimpses into the by gone era (music of G Ramanathan, Subbaiah Naidu etc)

4. A quiz. Audio/Visual quiz. In TFM DF we have only pixel quiz

5. Some discussin on poetry with songs sung to illustrate the point.

6. TFM artist in other languages. (You can play those songs)

I am sure others will have similar ideas. So get on with it.

Good to hear from you. Your suggestions are quite good, but I think we need to have some more people out here to get it to work. For starters, exchange of ideas and perspectives certainly seems interesting to me.
