This topic was borne in the Obsession of Lyricists discussion. Since the Favorite Analogies has been an amazing discussion, I felt this topic could deal with the other extreme where people can list stale expressions, analogies. In the English language, no self-respecting poet will use the rose and thorn analogy for love from the Shakespearean age, yet in TFM such expressions are common place. I wish we had critics for TFM lyrics to keep the language fresh. By fresh I certainly don't mean the use of English in TFM. Here are my choice of cliches. The following similies and metaphors should be outright condemned from further use by any song writer:
Anna Nadai, Annam pola nadai
Maan Vizhi and its variations
Vael Vizhi and its variations
Kuyil Kural and its variations
