I have few movies mentioned in other threads on YSR but where are the audio's? Have they been released? Such as for Nandha or manathai thirudivitay or Telugu movie? It has been a while since I heard YSR songs

Heard TI with the three additional songs...I was pleasantly suprised to hear a full fledged Heavy metal song....good venture....the theme music is also good. One thing which I noticed with Yuvan is that he totally gets into the style which he is trying out, though you can find traces of his style he definitely has not been repetetive.A point to be noted is that he like most other MDs is inspirational. He has got very good potential and am looking forward for nandhaa.
Yuvansfan can you elaborate on this bit of news. Could you pls let us know the source too.

TI is a wonderful album! Yuvan has talent. He does have problems though because tamil people are trigger happy just ready to brand any MD.
so if he does tamil folk he is goin to be called IR copier and if he does "western" stuff like HJ he will be called ARR clone.
tamil people have become quite binary in their judgement.
yuvan's approach in "ithu kaathala" is good he sounds distinct. "povellam kettupaar" is another very good album! this guy has got talent!
but its too soon to compare to ARR IR etc. let him give 1 hit first. The requirement is he should do music fo a movie that had more probability to become a hit.
for that he needs to work with big dir. or big stars..initially and then his music will get recognized on it own. much like the way ARR or IR did.
STS,
if u check statistics, since ARR came into the pic. kamal and rajini wud have done atleast 15 movies. I think ARR has 2 movies with kamal and maybe 3 with rajini less than 1/5'th .
so if u take directors list he has all 5/5 with MR, 4/4 with shankar 2/3 with BR and 1/2 with KB. I dunno abt the rest of them.
That accounts for 12 movies. so a total of 17/55 movies under "big names". I may have missed some but i think I covered the essense.
like anyone else yuvan just needs a ladder to get noticed. Its the requirement in any field. until then all good work will/can remain unnoticed. for e.g adhithyan is a good MD , he did not get chance to work with big names and so he remained unknown. same cud happen to anyone.

YUVANSFAN,
pls elaborate on the news. I don't think , any body of that background would choose YSR instead of ARR. Its pretty obvious. give us some link, on it

"One thing which I noticed with Yuvan is that he totally gets into the style which he is trying out, though you can find traces of his style he definitely has not been repetetive"
A very good point. I have the same opinion too.
Re: Yuvan and ARR. I dont think anybody is going to make the same impact as ARR did in the near future. Mainly because ARR was the first to throw open the doors of change into TFM/IFM. Synths, drum machines and other recording techniques. So not just music, he could make a difference even with technology. Now, thats not the case. Everybody has access to the technology and many people are trying different musical genres. We have whole lot of 'new sounds'. How can an individual MD differentiate himself in this crowd ? This is going to be very tough and tricky.
IMHO, Yuvan has a style. He is good but he needs to work on audience acceptance. I say that it is okay if not everybody likes your music. Its high time we stopped requiring MDs to be like swiss-army knives - multi-talented. Everybody should specialise in a particular area rather than be one-stop-shop for everything.
Amateur composers here might have better opinions on this.

Bharath,
As I said in my previous thread, it is a WASTE arguing with you and I stick to that.
Is it vahutherichal people always talk about Poovellam Kettuppar as Yuvan's best (meaning his quality is coming down)? Dheena is great and TI is even better. To me, YSR's recent albums are far better than the recent ARR albums.
Adhithyan is a good MD... I see.

My sentiments exactly Kiru...
Shankar-Ehsan-Loy represent such a scenario.
Anu Malik - Ranjit Barot - Did you see the CD/Tape sleeve of Asoka (I didn't buy it though)...credits Ranjit Barot with sound design !
I had created a thread for this earlier but didn't get any response...as you've mentioned the reality is yet to sink in that such a change is happening.

Bharath...Adityan is a pretender..he had the skills but is not an in-depth music guy...we can see the sincerity in IR or ARR, YSR and even in HJ's attempts..but Adityan has been a big let down...I dont think it is a case of not getting the right films - it is a lack of sincerity and being a 'pretender'.

I agree on the Adityan front. I loved Amaran's music but every subsequent effort of Adityan was pretty substandard, though I agree that most of his movies failed badly. I dont see any future for this guy, now.
have you guys heard of an album called 'Paarvai' by Adityan? I had got hold of that cassette loooong back while I was in Salem. Had 6 okey dokey songs. Particularly, it had a classical'ish song by Unni Krishnan - 'velli kolosu' which sounds a lot of Iruvar's 'narumugaye' and Iruvar came 3-4 years later. Definitely not a copy, could be the same raagam base. I dont think the movie was ever released. Wonder if it was movie in the first place. It was released by HMV!!

I agree that VidyaSagar started copying - almost every tune of his sounds like some old song ... Not exact copy like what Deva and SAR are doing., But a sure inspiration from old IR songs mainly.,
But somehow I liked 'ALLith thantha vaanam' - 'Chenna pattaNam' and 'Vaadi Vaadi' are two good dance numbers (For Prabhudeva :-), and 'Thoom Thoom' is a nice melody with wonderful lyrics by ARivumathi ! 'kaNNaalee' song is also good.,
Reg., YSR, I defenitely believe that he has the talent and he sticks to his style, Thats what I like in him., He is not copying ARR or even his father., (Take Deva - he copied the style of IR in the beginning, Later when ARR became a succes s- he adopted his style - from 'Aaasai' and now he himself doesn't know where he is - Listen to 'Maayavanee Maayavanee' from Mayan., Wonderful song - But IRish, I would never believe its Deva's own tune :-)
After couple of more listenings, I started liking almost every song in MTV - probably except 'Sadugudu' ... YSR should've done more work on that., Other than that, All songs sound good !
And to answer S T S's Question (is it album that can complete with the present A R Rahman ?) - Yes, a very big Yes, If you assume Thenali and Star are the kind of albums ARR is going to give to tamil audience in near future ... YSR defenitely can compete with ARR !
I am eagerly waiting to know what ARR has done for MaNi Rathnam's and KB's next movies .... They are not imported tunes I understand !

thanks naga for the reply.
i did not project mtv as abad album.all i wanted to say is it is not competant enough to beat arr.
now let me list out the points on why ysr cannot beat arr.
1.he is not consistent.his major hits as total albums are only two.pkp and dheena.in aravindan he was good but inexperience showed. in the next album kalyana kallatta there was only a duet was good.in velai one gana was fantastic all other songs went to drain. in unakkaga ellam unakkaga he showed lot maturity.whih was followed by dheena-a hit contiuing that trend he gave good stuff in thulluvatho illamai but in mtv he has let down.
in arr's and ir's career graphs u will not find these kind of inconsistancy.
2.he is not marketing savvy.when arr's album releases he gives many interviews and hog the media lime light. when thlluvatho illamai released not even a single ad released. u cannot find this happen to a arr's album.
3.he is not good in selectin situations.see in mtv there are three female solo songs.he should try to satisfy first the youth then the film that is the stratgy of arr. imagine in a prabudevas film three solo songs for the heroine out of 6 songs
4.he should try to go for the directors who r more creative. i saw two songs of mtv 'manja kattu' and 'jolly day' they picturised very badly.
5.the recording quality is not upto the mark when compared with pkp and dheena.if listen mtv songs in a good system it sounds pathetically.yuvan should also concentrate on this.an arr album is always perfect in this regard.
let me tell u, i like yuvan. i have spent time with him. i have seen him working.he is one of the brightest music talents in this country.as raaja once said 'karthik getti yuvan sutti' he is still sutti he should get serious in music business

lenon,
Velai had only one good song ? What about 'Ooyvedu Ooyvedu Nilavee' I would rate it as one of YSR's best songs !
I agree with you that three female solos in a movie can't do any good to a MD, But what YSR can do in this ?? Its directors decision anyway ! Same applies for YSR going for creative directors, He is not in such a position now ! OTOH, Raja Delivered his best even for crap directors, Isn't it ?
They are advertising ThuLLuvathoILamai a lot thesedays, They even released a new cassette with three addtional songs, I only hope the movie is released - be it good or bad, the moment songs hit satelite channels, Its a different kind of popularity !

STS,
I still think you are a very good guy! :-)
in any case my rather "strong" feelings about "thalaimurai" aatchi has hurt you I guess.
But just a gentle reminder that I carefully followed up the "flute" argument and furnished so many songs ( > than 70 % of ARR's songs) but then u still disagree :-)
but well arguing with me is a waste ...never mind the arguments the person is more important :-)
oh...well if thats the way you feel! ( even if i say Povellam kett.. is good i am vayatherichal case ... inspite of my first line starting with TI praise :-) ) we arent biased at all are we:-)
Cosmician,
adhityan started well and the degraded to the level of deva et all..
he had some good somgs in amaran and 1 good song in an otherwise junk , lucky man. He did let me down with copying "still I am sad" into some junk song in "amaravathi" .
but I have met him and spoken to him. He laments about not getting atleast 1 good director (other than paratap pothen)
and even after "sevalaperi pandi" he did not take off.
"oila paadum padal" was a good song b.t.w...
