bollywood vs kollywood!!!

I feel the Hindi audience, these days, is totally tasteless...seeing the kind of movies made in bollywood! They seem so unbelievably idiotic. And the music...even worse!!! Even lagaan and devdas, i feel were not as great as they claimed they were. Definitely not Oscar caliber :O When Lagaan was nominated for Oscar... we had pop-ups on MSN saying "Ask Spielerg to watch Lagaan"!!!! I mean idhellam konjam over-aa therialay??!! All the Hindi movies ever have is standard-aa one family bzness and a wedding and a holiday some place like NZ, Swiss et al. Tamil movies are far far better in content and music and everything. What do u say?

  is not a misguided one. Lagaan is really OSCAR worth movie not given bacause of international politics (stemming from the theme). If Indian's can watch Spielberg's movies why can't he watch LAGAAN?.
  
  Of course, feelings and expressions take differnt ways of direction in INDIAN and FOEGN movies, so its difficult to compare on these two frames.
  
  Except for LAGGAN and GADDAR and some inspirational movies, Bollywood is flooded with mere galmour and no substance. South Indian movies are better (though there are craps (like BOYS))in them too.

  Hmm...am forced to...Lagaan...gud movie am not denying it...but Oscar worth movie...a definite no...man..it was a movie with cricket as its fulcrum...it was considered under the best foreign movie category right??Now temme was it anywhere near others which had won tht award previously(in terms of theme)..."Life is beautiful","No man's Land"????No way!!!
  
  And we watching Speilberg's films...."Saving Private Ryan"..man...plz... is there a movie which equals this materpiece...i dun think so...there are lotsa gud indian movies..regional...not tht i have seen movies of other language...but plz...Devadas,Lagaan...are no oscar stuff...:)

  Man, for heavens sake dont compare Lagaan with any other movies of Spielberg. Dhanya's take on Saving Private Ryan is a valid one. The way he took the war scene's totally un-glamourising it was really stunning.
  Have any one here seen his old movie, DUAL. Now thats what i call a movie. There are lots and lots of regional movies that are better than hyped up movies like Lagaan. Lagaan was a feel good movie, i agree, but definetely not OSCAR Worthy.

  Lagaan was the best movie that year.
  May be its justified that it didn't win the Award (NML should have been better), yet it must have impressed quite a lot of ppl.
  Dunn say its good lobbying by Aamir, if lobbying can achieve something at the oscars, Shekar kapoor would have got his Bandit(nude)queen nominated!
  Only Mother India and Salam bombay have gone this far in 50 years.

  It was great fun watching the match yesterday. I wanted to get a team india t shirt. I couldnt find one at the last moment. then I got a chelsea T shirt. You know that I am a big fan of chelsea too.
  Infact Roman Abramovich is producing the movie I am acting with Karolina Sprem and Maria Sharapova.
  
  How was your vacation? Not yet back?
  It is painful to see people fighting here. Yesterday only I was so happy that as a team we won. And today we are fighting here :-(

  Was it, did not know that, for me the greatest fun ever on yesterday's match, is when Jayasuriya thrashed Z.Khan for 5 consecutive boundaries in the 7th over! that was a great sight :))

  The match was fantastic. I just cant express the feelings. I have no words. Yeah Bips is in delhi. But I dont think I can make it to delhi right now. We are planning for a delhi/agra visit sometime in september.

  i dun blame the hindi guys,just look at our Kollywood itself,what r the songs which is topping the charts??Apadi Poodu,Pottu Takku,Umma Umama,Manmatha Rasa.Lately Vairamuthu said in a interview in Malaysia (for some poem contest),There was time only cultured songs r no 1 (Illairaja),then it was Cultured & Fun songs(A.R.Rahman),but now days only Fun songs(lately,Vidysagar,YSR,HJ,etc etc)Cultured songs have no value...i totally agree with this,lets see whats the next step at our TFM!
