Fr. Jegath' Oct 11 message finally brings a relaxed and buoyant mood that we all can finally indulge This below statement itself is pregnant with abundant joy, surprise and elation:

This is what I call the "Ultimate Thriller" - no movie, no work of art, no adventure comes close to the thrill derived from just listening to any work of IR and I can't imagine the extent to which IR fan's will be bowled over by this current project of Fr. Jegath!!

Please send in your thoughts and comments on the release event. How to do it? How to better it? How to make it memorable?
And.. how to make it profitable [to make good the committments!]?

SSSSAV - can you send TIS proper flyers to some addresses that I will give you shortly ? that is one way to start
Send a complimentary CD to the American Association of Composers (something like that) with a proper description of the same
Get hold of BARNES AND NOBLE chain of stores in the USA and have TiS posters on their CD section walls
Send invitation(s) to major music websites to attend the music release function
Catch hold of TIME magazine and see if this release can be featured as a small section in their Arts Section
If possible, get a slot in the BBC for a formal presentation
Send a comp CD to the UK Arts Council and get them to your release ceremony
Get hold of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) and have flyers of TiS distributed to foreigners (and Indians alike) visiting their offices in India and abroad
Send a mail/fax to one Dr.A.P.J.Kalam and if possible send a compl CD to him as well -
that is the way I would do things

Great thought. At least if 50% of what U had said is done, I am sure IR's name will be spelled with great reverence the future as one among the great composers of the world...I have no doubt that the product is the best in the world but I doubt, its packaging and presentation to the world will make it into just an other release among the million others in this world this year.

From what I observe in the `Indian store' kind of establishments in NA, the periodical `thendRal' seem to have a wide circulation...an ad in that might help to reach NA thamizh makkaL...

Some questions (distantly related to this thread, though of marketing nature)...
1. What is the thamizh / telugu population in NA?
2. What about the same group in Europe & gulf? (I know gulf has a lot of malayalees too and a decent percentage of them should be interested in ICM)
3. How many live in Australia?
4. Does anyone know the numbers for Singapore & Malaysia...
Someone may question why talk only about overseas and not focus on TN/India...the reason is typically the overseas listeners can afford:-) and it may be relatively easier to reach them (as they have limited channels of access to cultural roots:-))

the photos are intriguing. most people seemed glued to the score ( i think nobody had time to relax or even smile, except IR in the photo requests) and most of musicians seemed clueless.
And, Oct 11 cleared my concern regarding the photos, and Oct 13 statement above of Fr Jegath totally clarifies. Why the muscisians were clueless is because that recording was only a portion of the big puzzling work by IR, so the musicians could not place it in perspective. Pls. check the photos again and you'll that mystifying look around including that of Laszlo Kovacz!
Violin "feast? " a highly profound word we've heard before ;----) For now, I am closely watching the photos of musicians and the conductor.....
