Ithu oru chinna karpanai.If ARR would have sored music for the film Bharathy instead of IR how would the songs be.

ARR actually was planning an album for Bharathy
but decided not to pursue it for some reason and
luckily Bharathy survived. Otherwise I can't
imagine Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder singh singing
Bharathiar songs in rap style etc. May be
ARR will compose one Bharathiar song in
Shakalakka style which will cause all
the media people like rediff to get overexcited
about him.

Anyway ARR has already left an indelible mark
on Vandhe Mataram etc !!!

if arr does muzik for bharathi,
CD/Tape Sales will be high,
Recording would have been much better
Bharathy will be heard in hindi,telugu, kannda, etc et indian languages

Tune will be much better than, arr will even copy bharaty song from madonna or some james bond theme which we all hear every day.

It's an absolute rubbish thread. Don't make silly guess about how a music director go about in creating songs.

Every music director & film director will always make sure that the nativity touch is there for such films.

I am not sure if this thread really mean "ARR hatredness or IR fanaticism"

The album that according to you will be having very high sales with ARR as MD, will be titled Bharathy but will have no connection to Bharathiar.

What is the basis of your concluding that
with ARR as MD, the sales will be higher?
The last few ARR albums like AP, KKKK had
no special sales going by the absence in
the press of any hype about it. It is
very well known how the press loves hyping
anything about ARR.

It's a proven fact. Magazines have printed out the sales status of each MD. For ARR, even those that are not tamilian but are great fans of his will buy the album for just ARR's music. IR does not enjoy that status. It is a well known fact that even ARR's average selling albums sell more than other musicians hits. That is mostly due to the wide fan strength of ARR. I have white friends here who can sing the songs of AP. One of my friends loves 'yaaro yaarodi'. As far as the title of the album, if it gets made, can be anything that ARR wishes. In any event, I think that a comparation with his Vande maatharam with patriotic albums of others can give a clue of how welll his music sells.

O...by the way, ARR's song for Fiza is really nice. Check it out...:-))

P.S..I always check IR's new albums:-))

Lookz like lotz of IR fanz here. Not dat he's bad. Its just his time past. ARR and IR r two ppl dat can not be compared. They are both great in their times. Who knows, in ten, twenty years ARR may come down, but I find dat very unlikely.

You can compare them by this. If ARR makes an album, its not just tamil dat enjoys the music. Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, English .. etc .. the WORLD!! When IR makes an album, it comes in Tamil. And datz 'bout it. ARR brought a new type of music in. Lotz of MD's r trying to adjust to it, but not everyone was able to do it.

Also, ARR is a copycat? Datz Deva. ARR may copy, but he copy's his own songs mostly. Like from Karuthamma .. Thenmerku ... and Thakshak .. Jaan Meri .. the bground is the same.

Also, ARR's comin' to Skydome. If IR came, he'd be stuck in John A. McDonald Public School auditorium. tickets would go from 5 buxx .. to 30 maybe. ARR's start @ 40 dollars .. and up to 170 dollars. And they r HOT.

Sorry bro,but your analysis by sheer songs alone are not good enough. One need not say or prove what IR has done in terms of songs or bgm.

You are rite, I'm not a music expert. I never in my life listened to tamil/indian music. Until Rahman entered this field. That's when I got very interested in it. Now, if IR can survive w/ his own talents, why did he also change into western style music? Such as time..

Sangamam .. now dat was an amazing album. Rahman has shown he can do all types of music ...

I have also listened to IR music, I love Sundari Neeyum Sundaran naanum .. and Sundari Kannal oru sedhi or .. Rakkammah Kaiye Thattu from the movie Michael Madhana Kama Rajan and Thalapathi. Songs like that can definitely not be replaced. They are definitely classics.

Why hasn't IR gotten International fame?

ARR's classics are like Pudiya Mugam, Thiruda Thiruda, Roja .. or more recent .. 1947 Earth.

People must like ARR's music internationally, because they copied a bgm type of song from Iruvar and put it in the mega blockbuster Gladiator as their bgm.

People, take 1/2 an hour of your time someday and just think in practical terms about ARR and IR. It is just something that happenned at the course of time. Beethoven and Bach were great composers, but are they popular with the mass? Do their symphonies sell as much as pop cds? Change is a natural part of life. As is everything else. Some of us may not like that. Don't bring IR down. He had his golden age. His music was different. The technology at his time was different. Suffice it to say, he didn't exactly venture into new technology or anything when things were changing around the world in the music industry, but that was his own decision. ARR's fame is a fact. That doesn't mean IR wasn't/isn't great. Someday, a new person is going to knock ARR of his pedestal, just like IR did to MSV previously. This happens in all fields. Nothing is the same forever. If people would take 1/2 an hour to think this through, maybe a lot of space can be saved:-))

check for the "ORIGINAL" source. 'Cos till now,
you have seen ARR being "inspired" from "many
sources".

I agree that ARR music is good to listen (how long
is another question). After repeated listening
you get hooked to it (for a while only, though
"Kaviperarasu VM" is (recycled) lyrics are good).
The pain is, after u listen to a new ARR song
and started appreciating, you come across the
"original". then you feel hurt for giving "credit" to a Remixer(???)..... May be,
we can appreciate ARR, if he also mentions in the
albums (Credit : inspired by "blahblah Album"...)
Only this part ("inspired") makes you hurt.
