Will Raaja's Fans Think?

Every time arr releases an album these guys immediatly write it off.this happened in every single album of arr.

But like the old phrase 'sooriyanai pathu nai koraikkuthu' their outright opposition never affect the sales or sweetness of arr's music.

Illaiyaraja 'kusu'-sorry to use this term but the circumstances requires- vittal kooda adhai in detaila praise panni adhil symphony iruukku carnatic kalanthurukkunnu 100 thread aarambikum rasigargal konjam yosikka vendum.

There is no doubt rajaa is a music genious.but that does not mean every other music director is stupid.

Now a days many new music directors give good songs.yuvan,karthik,harriss,bharani,vidyasagar,manisharma,baradwaj etc. Music has become democratic from autocratic rajaa's rule.

Infact this years huge hits are given by deva 'maley maley',vidyasagar'dill','alli thantha vaanam',hariss jayaraj '12b', 'majnu' but there were no threads discuss them. even if u start one it will get no response.

but if u start a thread say 'yuvan wins oscar' or 'illaiyaraja catches cold' u will get responses like anything.

And there is a funny top ten list which puts 12b in the last place. computer padichu internetlam theriyura padichavangaley ippadi kalla oottu pota padikkatha janga electionla kalla oottu podathan seivanga.

And it is important to note there is no huge hit from raaja these years.

  just by sales u can't accept on has a good md, its simple logic used by arr realsing a movie in long interval .

  "HE IS THE BEST! I don't think anyone can come up to ARR standards. I think he is the only TALENTED & ORIGINAL Music Composer India or rather the world has ever seen and would ever see!". There are several others who have written similar comments saying he is god and this and that.
  
  You cannot get upset for IR fans liking IR and appreciating him. If you cannot see any good in what they are able to appreciate, too bad, a sane person won't get upset about this. I see ARR fans appreciating him "aaha, ooho" for songs I think are absolute crap. But that's their taste..

  In the last 5 years, IR has given only two hits KM & Sethu, and how can u say he is still ruling? ARR gives atleast two or three quality songs in each and every film he is composing, but the same cannot be said of IR. Even new composers like Harris, Bharadwaj have performed ( no. of good songs/movie) better then IR in the recent days. If raaja fans are honest, then they have to accept that.

  Accepted,but at the same time, many of the new releases of ARR become hits because of the hype and propoganda given to them,its absolutely unnecessary.You people have to accept it as a matter of fact.

  In the last 5 years I think the following movies stand out in my mind as good quality (at least 2-3 quality songs?) - forget the commercial hit status. sometimes it has to do with who directs it, budget, etc.,
  
  1. Sethu
  2. Kathalukku Mariyathai
  3. Hey Ram
  4. Bharathi
  5. Friends
  6. Kannukkul Nilavu
  May also add...
  7. Kanna Unnai Thedugiren
  8. Kaakai Chiraginile
  
  Well, there may be more I missed. I think these have more originality compared to some of the other MDs you have mentioned.
  
  I'm not saying others are crap - I liked many ARR hits in the last 5 years, Dum3 and some others by KR, some of YSR, etc. Minnale by HJ, etc.,
  
  But given the fact that IR has given music for mostly low budget films with less hype, none of the brand name directors, overwhelming number of fans still following IR's music shows how he has touched people with his music in the last several years.
  
  I definitely agree one cannot say IR rules. But it is like Sampras finishing 10th this year. I will love Sampras no matter who is No. 1. I will say hey Sampras rules whenever he wins a game. But you got to see everything in its perspective and not literally think we are saying IR is the #1 MD today all things considered.

  I agree with you 200%.It suceeds only bcos of hype and propaganda.I think most people here are retarded for falling for just hype and propaganda.
  They tend to overlook other's music only for the reason it doesn't have hype and propaganda or their musical taste is very inferior to appreciate better things.I know we both belong to the better category.

  Yes Yes, ARR has given a lot of hits in the recent past. But since this forum is all about thinking, i request all ARR fans to think...
  
  If you think, carefully, you guys will realise that with all these hits, what has really taken a beating is the quality and originality in TFM!

  IR fans talk alot abt the quality of TFM, hype determining sales records and alot of other stuff like they are marketing psychology or music experts. But i feel u are harsh in expecting them to think too much. Bcos, "sadiyil irunthaalthaan agapayil varum". Hype can determine initial sales, say up to a week from the release. After that, it's all word of mouth. The same goes for movie releases as well. I don't doubt the genius of IR, but something's strange abt the cult-like following from his HC fans. And u see them proclaiming they belong to the 'better category'. Cult members who commit mass suicide and terrorists who kill in the name of god also seriously believe they belong to the better category and that they are the chosen ones of God. But they r just a bunch of deluded lunatics. I admit comparing IR fans to such people may be unwarranted and far-fetched, but the principles behind such self-inflation are the same.

  ARR fan = IR fan
  HCIRF = ARR hater + idiots
  HCARRF = loyal, unbiased, true music lovers
  
  These 1 or 2 people also start different threads with the topic of "analysing reason behind.." grinding the same old, damn useless, boring stuff in every similar thread. Who is going to tell tham that a biased mind can not be a good judge..

  You don't need to be biased to understand hatred. I have heaps of IR cds at home and consider him as a genius who has other interests rather than mainstream tfm md-ing these days. I have stated before not all ARR haters r IR fans and I have never defended HC ARR fans who condemn HJ or others.
  The truth is Fliflo, the number of IR fans defending him and condemning others' 'inferior taste' in music far outnumber the no. of ARR fans doing the same, not only in this thread but in others too.

  The point most guys - read IR fans - are trying to make is not that ARR is bad. He is very good but a notch below IR. Crowning him with the tag of a music genius is going overboard. It is like comparing, say, Hardy with Ramanujam.
  
  Having said that, I for one do not understand why both parties have to be such bigots. To each his own.
