Friends!
Great song "Manasu rendum paarkka.." from Kadhal Konden..
Shankar Mahadevan has rendered that song with exact emotion. But
"Oru paarvaiyil ennai kondru vidu penne..
Un Koonthalil ennai pudhaithu vidu penne..
koLvatharku munne oru muthamidu penne..
adahi marakkaathey.."
In this he should have pronounced "kolvatharkku"
instead of "koLvatharku". It is odd to listen to a "La" instead of "la"
In another song "Ennai konjam Maatri" from "Kaaka kaaka" the singer is pronouncing "Thulli Thulli poguthey" instead of "ThuLLi ThuLLi poguthey".Here instead of "La" "la" is pronounced.
The concerned persons related to the movie and song should have corrected this. Is this the fate of Thamizh?
These are examples.. In most of the peppy songs Thamizh kolai is being done. I have not mentioned them because the whole song would have been a Thamizh kolai.

I am not sure about the singer of "Ennai konjam maatri" from "Kaaka Kaaka". Is it Tippu? You people may think that i am blaming Shankar mahadevan for that song too. For that only.. this clarification i am posting

That is timmy !!!!
JK ,
THis is very rare from SM ,though he does not have a perfect pronounciation .That song is powerful ,so while adding that power ,that accidental slip occurs !!

SM is okay - generally not known to make such blunders. But there is a whole lot of others who fail miserably in Tamizh like 'Pop' Shalini, Suresh Peters, Sriram (at times), the female voice of 'Kalyaanam dhaan katti kittu' and ofcourse the Hindi singers.
I agree music is beyond language but that is meant for the ears. U can enjoy a song in Hindi, German, French, Arabic but when u know German and when the singer is killing the German language in his song, u are bound to feel miserable. Is my view right here?
But singers like PS (who sounds very Telugu-ish when she speaks) and Chithra (with the Malayalam accent) are flawless when rendering Tamizh songs.

JK,
even KJY does this mistake in "piLLai nila"[neengaL ketavai] as pillai nila.
his son is continuving this mistake in the song "amma sonna aariraro"[SMK]as kaadhinile pesum pillai kanimozhi.

S..in Vairamuthu's "Indha Kulathil Kal Erinthavargal" you can see one incident in which he corrected KJY

Mumbai ramki!,
All those singers listed by you are really killing thamizh.
But in case of SM or SPB or KJY, they can pronounce thamizh well without killing it and at the same time if they do small mistake in pronounciation it is odd to listen whereas in the case of other singers mentioned by u.. the whole song would be odd to listen

I am adding to the list..
No Problem(Love birds)
Come on Come on o kaamatchi(love birds)
Konjam nilavu(Thiruda Thiruda)
Kadhal pisase(Run)

Kadhal Pisase is the classic no.1 when it comes to murder of tamil language!
What can I say? It even inspired comedian Vivek to parady the song's pronounciation in his comedy for the film Kadhal Sadugudu. The way vivek says "paruvaa illay" is amazing

Anupama's " July maadham vandhaaL' and Suresh peters' Chikku Bukku railu are the worst example for thamizh kolai. I think after that only a lot of thamizh songs came with bad pronounciation. so the credit goes to ARR

Just Kidding .....
1.Even our maestro has used such things .But 90% of such additions will be as a chorus and it will look like music and not as sound as ARR and HJ ,YSR use .Thankfully ,ARR does not use those sounds these days ...

Have u heard Deva's 'Allu allu' song's starting piece. I was scratching my head when i listened to it for the first time. can anybody here clarify?
Mumbai ramki!
even our maestro has done that.. But as u said it sounds musically and not like these.
previously ARR used child voice in each and every film just to give chance for his relative (sister's son).
chikku bukku
kuchi kuchi rakkamma
paalakkaattu machaanukku
like this the list will go on..
But nowadays he is not using that child's voice also.
I have read in one magazine. for bharathiraja's film (for karuthamma or kizhakku cheemaiyile)..i am not sure..he wanted to use that child's voice. But BR refused to that..becoz he had to visualise that song by digging a hole in his script. Just it came to my mind and i want to share with u

That song was composed in the context of a drunkard singing at a sarayakkadai. Are you a maramandai and complaining about the pronounciation in that song too? Please comeback with some other example, this one is discarded.

hello paran and JK,
that song is "eh jaadhi illa bedham illa thanni pottutta",kamalhassan played police officer role.inorder to catch a thief,he change his getup as a paettai rowdi named 'salttukkotta siluvai'.he talks 'chennai tamil',and hence it is written that way.MV sang that song well.the topic is about the ilakkana pizhaigal of singers.so pls discuss in the right track.
