Piano Background in TFM

I'm just curious to have a list of Tamil film songs where Piano has played a major role.
Especially songs with good Piano vamping throught the song or attractive preludes and interludes.

A.M Raja used Acoustic Piano tremendously.. His styles are excellent. MSV, IR, ARR have used piano in many songs.

I can give you some samples..

Could you guys pls. help me in finding out rare songs with a good piano background?

  1)Engirundho - SPB - Brahma
  2)Chinna Pura - SPB - Anbe Sangeetha
  3)Ponmaanai - Kamalhasan - Oh Mane Mane
  4)Thenmadhurai - SPB - Dharmathin Thalaivan
  5)Kannan Vandhu - S.Janaki - Rettai Vaal Kuruvi

  Thanks for introducing many Illayaraja's piano songs. I remember one Gangai Amaran's song 'Mazhai Thuzhiyil' (Nadhiya plays piano and sings)
  it is a good one.
  One question.. I saw one movie long back, in that Mohan is a pianist, he marries a singer.
  He'll become jealous... blah blah.. Does anyone have an idea what movie is that? I could'nt recollect.

  There is one telugu song by IR, (should be there in Tamil also) from a movie Abhinandana, - Prema entha madhuram, priyuraalu entha katinam. This song has excellent Piano pieces in the prelude and in the interlude too.

  I recently saw the movie "The Firm". It has very nice piano BGM sequences. A few sequences were quite similar to the ones in "Hello Mr.Edhirk Katchi" of Iruvar. Can some knowledged person confirm this? I donno which film came first.

  RajaG.. I too like the second interlude of July Matham vandhaal song. I'm curious to find out the taste of our MDs whenever they use piano in their songs. For example in olden days, the style of playing piano was different. You can hear continuous arpeggios (breaking the chords and playing smoothly.. it sounds like running water) and somewhat catchy rhythm. ARR plays piano in somewhat latest style (minimum and controlled). But for Iruvar movie, he went back to olden days style. Thendrale, and Kanpona pokkile (soft waltz rhythm) are very soft and real good songs.
  
  Thanks kumar for listing many piano songs. In your list, I know only 'oru pen puraa' song. I'll hear the rest of the songs.
  Ramesh.. can you tell me where can I get the song 'thangak kili tholil'? I haven't heard that song.
  Murali.. I don't have any idea about the movie 'Firm'... But the piano vamping and runs you heard in 'Hello Mr. Ethirkatchi' are very common. I guess, Maniratnam must have asked him to play piano in 60s or 70s style. (he must have imagined MGR banging the piano in many movies!!) As ARR is so much interested in Rock, Pop, Blues etc.. etc.. he might be interested to compose such tune.. He maintains old or new style, but avoids copying others tune exactly. I don't think he copies anyones tune intentionally.
  Jana.. I haven't heard that telugu song. Can you tell me where can I get that?
  Radhai.. I've heard unnai ondru ketpen long back.. but I forgot, when does piano enter.. I'll listen to it again.
  'Avazhukkenna azhagiya mugam' song from server sundram is a real good song.. It is jazzy and typical western style.. One more song..
  'Malarendra mugam ondru' from 'kaadhalikka neramillay' has excelent interlude piano pieces and fantastic Gliss.
  Pls. go ahead.. I want to collect more piano songs..

  No Clue.
  Another V.Kumar song, which has good piano accompaniment - 'poonnai naan parthaillai pennai naan parthadundu' (SPB) ( Ramki, any info, which movie is this?). This song has amazing piano, guitar, sax and flute pieces,all mixed up in a lovely way in two great interludes. Great song, if any one has heard this, I would love to hear their views.

  ponnai nAn pArthathundu , peNNai nAn pArthathillai is a beauty in its orchestration , with some remarkable rendition by SPB. Excellent tune with gentle rhythm that spurs the imagination of an evening spent on a candle lit dinner with someone special!:-) (very much reminds me of the song manathil enna ninaivugaLO by SPB,SPS from poonthaLir)
