  'manitharil iththanai niRangaLA'. Singer is SPB.
  The humming is by Shailaja, I think. Sri Devi is
  the actress in that song; the actor is some
  vague Kannada actor. The MD is Shyam. Kamal comes

  Hi Mano,
  
  What I mentioned previously, is that I had recorded from line-in input using Goldwave at 48KHZ sampling rate. The problem is that all encoders accept wav files with sampling rate less than 48KHZ as input for encoding them to realaudio/mp3 format.
  
  Anyway, I am recording them again at 44.1KHZ to use these encoders. Thanks for the helpful comments.

  If you are willing to try 44kHz samplers, the best free software available is goldwave. Another one is cool edit. They give you the option to "Save as" mp3 files (ie from wav to mp3).

  It is ok. I downloaded the recent MP3 encoder from www.mp3.com, which is called HyCD. It encodes 48KHz samples. And I could easily encode to MP3. The facility to directly encode using Goldwave was needing some other file(for encoding to MP3). I will try getting those files and try using Goldwave. Thanks for the details.

  A wonderful performance by SPB. Fantastic Lyrics. I dont know the MD or movie of this song.
  
  2) Yaarukku Yaar Sondham Naan Sollava Enakkenrum Neeyae Sondham Malai Sooda Vaa....
  Again an adorable performance by KJY.
  
  3)Look Love Me Dear Lovely Figure Lasting Colour Ven Meghamae Odi Va....
  A very good song from Simla Special, by SPB and SJ. I am not sure whether MD is MSV?
  
  4) Mazhaiyum Neeyae Veiyilum Neeyae Nilavum Neeyae Neruppum Neeyae Adada Unaithan....
  A nice song by SPB from the movie "Azhagan".
  
  All have been encoded in MP3.

  Hi Vels,
  I listened to the latest uploads, perhaps I could tell you someting. Don't use the MP3, it's bit rate is really high (128kps) and I think that's way too much for tamil songs especially old songs.
  If you use Line In to record it as the wave file, please make sure that you did not raise the input volume too much. It seems that you did that and it sounds really bad with the speaker. To correct this problem, try to set the recording indicator not to exceed the two light green!!!
  
  Yes the md of Simlas special is MSV!! The best song in that movie is "Unakenna Meley Nindraai...".

  Thx for your great effort. This is specially in regard with "mazaiyum neeyE". The encoding is extremely noisy. May be you can try keeping the input volume and bass low while recording. IT will greatly enhance the quality.

  You can hear the 'Manitha Manitha' song at the All India Radio website, with a strange introduction. Go to
  http://www.allindiaradio.com/music/index.html, go to Film Music, Tamil Films. Click the Song lists and you can see few songs/films with atrocious spellings.

  Yes 2 is from Paruva Mazhai, and had some great songs by Salil Chowdhry.

  I strongly suggest one of you (Vels/Mano-Ramki) to host the file in your site with a courtesy note directed to AIR.
  
  I am confused to see manitha manitha with arbit songs like kalluri saalai and padayaappa. Another classic that is found with these garbage in AIR is "kadavul amaiththu vaiththa mEdai" - oh balu is fantastic !
