hj in saamy has lifted "aathukkullae athi maram" a bit song from either raajadhi raaja or veera-ir in to "aalamaram arasa maram oora viittu pogapporaen" and this has been justified by the hindu film review very bad for hj.

The song is "aathile annakkili" and yes, you are bang on target.
Cha...I feel shame to talk about this guy....He is the south India's Anu Malik. In some angles he resembles in looks too.

"thesong is "aathukkullae athi maram
andhiyilae pootha maram
motha maram ehtanainnu kooru kooru
adi kuruvi ellam thangudhadi marathu mela thookkanaangoodu koodu"
definitely hj has lifted this song knowingly or unknowingly but it has been pointed out here and also in the newspaper hindu, this is a very bad precedent set by hj,blacksheep.

ALl,
See the close resemblance of MJ's The Way You Make Me Feel and Boys(from above links). Guess it's not surprising when you know that ARR is big fan of MJ.

Ramesh; i don't see any RESEMBLANCE to BOYS and MJs "The way you make me feel." I don't know where you're getting your thaoughts from.... The song that has resemblance to Mj's the way you make me feel is Vidyasagar's - Eh Macchi Macchi form ANBE SIVAM. the "Boys" tunes are fresh and new...

Guys,
I repost this. Your opinion please.
Guys,
How about Anbe sivam song? Vaazve Thavam Anbe sivam. Second stanza "Aatikam Pesum Adiyarkellam Anbe sivam AAgum" is like 'Tum be Akele Hum Be akele Maza Aarahahe(Quymat se Quymat Tak)

I am not sure if anyone mentioned this here before. I have discovered that ARR has copied a famous 80's song by Talking Heads. Listen to Thanneerai Kadhalikum from Mr.Romeo and This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) by Talking Heads. You will find more than a similarity in it.
Inspiration or plagarism? Why is ARR drawing from everywhere? Doesn't he have a mind of his own. When I listen to other songs of Mr.Romeo, I get a hint of Hindi past hits(Qurbani or etc?). Seems like the more we take time to research the more we will find out where he 'gets' his music from.

Talking Heads,
I have followed ARR's composition. I feel when a situation is given to him, he first analyzes how other MD's handled similar situation. He takes the best of it and draw a parallel.
It won't be a direct copy, but definitely has resemblence of that.
For Example:
Enadhu Raajangahm ithudane from Muthu is inspiration from Ullathil Nalla Ullam from Karna. If you notice, you can go between the two songs.
Enna solla pogirai of Kandukonden Kandukonden is inspiration from Samarasam Ullavum idhame(old song) We can go between these songs in between.
But at the end ARR gives a good result that one may forget the original. That is his success.
Confirm, do you feel the same way?

watched "Punnagai poovey" (MD-YSR). during the climax scene, when the Meera character is shifted to the ambulance and at the same time, Venkat and Nithya start to the airport, the BG used is from Taal (Beat of Passion, MD-ARR). I thought they'll conveniently use it as "Song played in the car on the way to the airpot" but that didnt happen. Absolute copy from YSR?
- From: Anita (@ 195.217.141.65)
on: Mon May 12 06:38:58 EDT 2003
Vj - No, the Tall Beat of passion has a cut and paste job of an old piece (Race With Devil On Turkish Highway By Al Di Meola and Steve Vai), which ARR used, along with the rest of the piece, which follows in Panthuvarali! Strange! The piece can be found on:

Please get your facts right! Bombay Dreams is one of AR Rahman's biggest successes, he was a new composer to the English people and he conquered - the album and show are both huge hits, running at full houses - I know, as I have been to see it at previews and after previews!! It was a huge hit for production company, Really Useful Group and is going to Broadway, in New York. Can you name any other Indian composer who has reached these hights?
- From: jibi (@ 163.238.37.29)

anita yes the show came to ny .but the show is absolute flop for the production company ..

Vj,
Could be true? I have noticed YSR doing it in couple of occassions. But the songs like mercury poove in puthiya Geethai, show he has potential too. We have give him some time.
That apart, if you consider Taal, there are songs ARR copied too.
Kariyena --- Vaarayoo Vaarayoo Enthen Anbe(old song)
Nahi Samne --- Rim Jim Pyar Vyar(Hindi song from Lakshmi Kant pyeralal)
Ishq bina -- Some part of Charanam is similar to Cheese badi hai Mast Mast and some portion of flute interlude from Hero song.
YSR doing this no body cares, but for a person who reached ARR reputation, people will watch. In fact there was tussle between Subash Ghai and ARR for the same reason.(Heard Subhas Ghai told it on a TV show and promptly changed MD in his next movie).
But after all this TAAL as a whole package, I love TAAL's music.

You meant "dil vil pyaar vyaar". In any case, "nahi saamne yeh alag baat hai" is CERTAINLY NOT copied or inspire or adapted from "dil vil pyaar vyaar".

jibi - Bombay Dreams will not be in New York until next Spring (2004)! Where did U get ur info? In the UK, it is such a huge hit (although it had a slow start), that they extended it by many months - a first for an Indian Composer! Be proud instead of hating and pls get ur facts right!
It broke the £10 Million Barrior in January!

So Jibi - when did the show come to New York? Going to Staten Islan College does not make you an expert on Boradway musicals - neither does slander take you anywhere!

Wasn't Yaadein Ghai's movie immediately after Taal? I heard ARR was busy with other commitments so the music for Yaadein fell on Anu Malik.

Thanks for spending time and proving once again (for more than 100 times ) that these were base less allegations.
But some people will keep alleging....That's probably their perinial desease.

Just curios..
during 80's Internet was not as hot as it is now..
may be...all the compositions during that period were not compared to others...and it tends to be original...by no-choice....
could it be?....
but now.....even if someone...farts..it is claimed that he is farting like that guy, or this guy...
may be?>......(this is only a tought, athe kude yenna alle vachi adikathinge da...pleasee)
