  NOV I dont think u need to be born in 1950s to write abt old singers(sir enakku innum 25 thandalai). We didnt
  hear her voice much bcoz LRE took her position. Even now she has a very good voice(she gives a lot
  of light music concerts)

  Ramki - I am sorry if I gave you that impression. Actually what I meant to say was that I grew up listening first to TMS & PS and then SPB & gang songs. I have great respect for Jamuna Rani, Jikki and so forth - I even know many of the songs listed above, but I may not be of much help in recollecting any.
  
  IMO Jikki and JRani still sound pleasant compared to PS and sometimes even SJ. I really don't understand why they don't get chances to sing nowadays.

  Also, there is another song in Kaidhi Kaannaayiram (I think) with Seerkazhi:

  The song starts with a fast humming by seerkazhi & JR, the tune of which is repeated later in the interludes with words like kodukka vaa vaa vaa, edukka vaa vaa vaa, mudikka vaa vaa vaa vaa vaa. The video features Thangavelu & Rajasulochana.

  Saw "Mannadhi Mannan" video to collect some JR songs for this querry. JR has 3 songs in the movie, PS has 3 or 4, MLV has 2 songs and P.Leela has 1 or 2 songs. MD: TKR-MSV. Lyrics: Kannadhasan & Marudhakasi.

  1 & 2 are fast-paced group songs. 3 is a beautiful, melodious song with PS & PBS. PBS sings for MGR, PS for Padmini & JR for Anjalidevi.

  I also love neeyO naanO yaar nilavE. The
  song was not a hit, probably because PBS's voice
  didn't fit MGR well? I recorded a whole bunch of
  songs having nilaa, nilavu, chandhran etc.
  last year when conducting MIME 15, and recorded
  this one too. I keep listening to it again and
  again. The song is rarely played by the radio
