fdfg (Alphabet peththa pillaya?), you mean the best song according to you, right? Why not open it up to everybody's favorite? BTW, non-Tamil actress doesn't narrow the field with MGR:
-Saroja Devi (Kannadiga)
-Jeyalalithaa (Kannadiga)
-Radha Saluja (Northie)
-Latha (Malayalee)
-Banumathy (sundharath Telungu)
-Padmini (Malayalee)
-Saviththri (also from Telungu desam)

only Manjula is a Tamil of all the prominent heroines of MGR.

I think the BEST has to be "Rajavin Parvai Raneein Pakkam" from "Anbe Vaa". The picturisation of the song, the music, the settings, the costumes and finally the lyrics by Valee were all "pramatham"!! It's a "sabash" to director Thirulokachander for some superb picturisation of the first part of the song which has a horse carriage going thru the stars, and to come out with that type of photograpy in the 60's is another achievement for Tamil films.

KK, I agree with you. Thottal poo malarum is a good song. I also like Kumari pennin ullathile. Though it is not a duet, I like 'unnai naan santhithen' - please accomodate this, becoz this is a love song:).

My favourite is 'Nee ennena sonnaalum kavithai' with Manjula in Netru Indru Naalai. I love the song.
Also 'Lilly malarukku kondaattam' in Ulagam sutrum vaaliban' again with Manjula, fantastic and colourful song.
The sexiest song would be 'Ennai vittal yaarum illai' with Latha..
