s.janaki didn't get a karnataka state award ?what does it show?

She got nearly 20 other state awards .4 national awards
but she didn't get even one karnataka state award..
what does it show...
The narrow minded people or what?

  Not only SJ, also PS haven't got any award from Karnataka. But VJ has got many. It doesn't matter in front of SJ's acheivements.

  U know Janaki ruled kannada film songs in 70's and 80's and given a lot of melody numbers. Its the panel set by govt, with narrow mind has not recognized the songtress.

  perhaps it's due to linguistic barriers observed by the state govts. Like SJ, PBS has ruled in kannada movies in 50's, 60's and 70's singing umpteen number of songs for Dr.Rajkumar & others.
  I am not sure whether the states have recognized him either.

  It is not correct to make comments like this. Obviously the movie industry didn't improve much. At the same time, there are very good directors who are good movies still (like Nagabharana). Hope the KFM scenario will improve.
  The popular TFM artists who are recognized in KFM are PBS, SPB, VJ and Chitra. T.G.Lingappa (born and brought up in Trichy) was ruling KFM once. Then G.K.Venkatesh (no need of introduction) and Vijaya Bhaskar entered. After Hamsalekha, no good MD is introduced in KFM.

  Even if this is true, So what? even after 94, she could have been awarded. Not necessary to defend the govt... I guess SJ did sing at least few songs after 94 in Kannada, though KSC started ruling those days.

  Chitra is ruling kannada industry!!! when? I never heard and never read in any kannada paper. I think she is sharing the songs with other singers. Now I heard 'Nandita' and 'Archana Udupa' are the leading singers in Kannada industry.
  For Kind information upto 1997 SJ ruling KFM after that I dont know, now I also heard Kavitha Krishnamurthy has sung some kannada songs.

  Madam, I am not here to quarrel with you on who ruled and all. It seems you have this kind of tendency to unnecessarily fight with people...
  
  My intention was to tell that even though the award was instituted in 1994, SJ was still singing. Why at all the KRN govt did not honour the great artist? That was my concern and I raised and not in any form to degrade SJ.

  I want clear one thing, though Kannada Govt, Started givng awards to Playback singers, it made an unusual law that ,
  IT WOULD AWARD A SINGER WHO IS A KANNADIGA BY BIRTH AND NOT OTHER STATE SINGERS.
  So,S.Janaki or Vani or Susheela have not any awards by Kannada State govt.
  And also one thing, This year also the ruile prevailed and Rajesh got award instead ofSonu Nigam , Hariharan and Madhu Balakrishanan.
  Not only for playback singing, 2 years back ,tehre was a rule that, they won't give any awards for Remake film, the artistes in that movie.
  Now, Ur doubt is cleared , I guess

  Kavitha Krishanmurthy is singing in Kannada from2 years-
  1. Her first song was for Sudharani in a movie called Sparsha( don't remember the song) - in this movie most of all the norht indian singers sang.
  2. Hoove Hoove - H20(also dubbed in Tamil- Kaveri, but the singer was different in Tamil)
  This song is a chart buster.
  3. And few more songs in new films like Dhruva, Kariya.

  Though Karantaka govt didn't give any award, she is honoured by many orghanisations in Karnataka, She was awarded as "Swara Sadhaki" by Mrs.Manjula Gururaj, famous Playbacak singer in Kannada films, through here Music Institutuion (Sadhana)
  Manjula Guru admits that it was Janakiamma who brought her up in Kannada Films or else it would have been dream to sing in Films.

  Mr Subbu I dont have any tendancy to fight with others and also My intention was not to quarel with anybody. Please go through my posting one more time. In my postings, I am not going to hurt anybody. You have written chitra is ruling KFM, So I was surprised, becoz I always notice that she was sharing the songs with other singers. I just always mention the facts.And I also mention SJ was ruling upto 1997 thats it, Whats wrong with that. SJ and PBS has got their "Life Time Achievement" Awards last two years back. Even we dont know why Karnataka Govt did not give or honour the great artists.

  And also, S.Janakiamma was awarded "Women of the YEar " 6th of April In Kerala.
  Yesterday i talked to Janakiamma, she is doing fine, we chatted for 30 mins, we discussed about her songs,. it was a nice chat with her. I will never forget yesterday..

According to Janakiamma this is the most challenging and tongue twisting(most difficult)song apart from "SINGARAVELANE DEVA". This song is based on two different ragas. You can download this song.   I can't thank you enough for that wonderful song. Oh, my God, I was totally speechless listening to that song. It is just marvellous. Singing that song is not a joke. Shifting between two ragas for every line is so difficult. I am glad I heard a song that I wanted to listen to for ages now. Janaki was splendid in the song.

  In effect what does it imply that S Jaanaki never got a Karnaataka State Award?
  It only implies that she fails to get a state award for a language that gave her shelter when none among Taamil and Telgu music directors wanted to patronise her.
  Most mind boggling that the highest quality female voice and vocalsit was ignored in 60s and 70s by Telgus and Taamils!!!! Mind boggling indeed

  Friends, Thanks for the reply. I have SJ's one more classical song is "Bhuvaneswariya Nene Maanasave" this is based on 'mohana Kalyani' Raga.
  
  Ramki, I dont have the songs of 'Kokila', I am sorry. But I do remember the songs, those songs are too good.
