The beauty that is nature at dawn has been captured and described very beautifully in many songs by our lyricists, MDs, and directors. Some examples are the songs :
Puththam pudhu kAlai ponnira vELai ,
KAlai panniyil
KAlai nEra poonguyil , etc.
These are examples from my limited repertoire of songs. Obviously, there are better and older examples of songs, in which the beauty of dawn has been described excellently (by Kaviarasar, et al).
So, why don't we get to see how beautiful words have described the beauty of dawn...

Kaalai thendral from Uyarndha Ullam should also fit into ur description I guess.
NOV: Though ur best dawn song is Venkatesa Suprabhadham. I think of the first music that comes on AIR in the morning instantly when I think of the morning. I think thats the disadvantage of being in Mylapore with a lot of houses and tea kadai's
And Viswa something that u had posted in another thread is also apt ofr this I guess
"Illam pani thullirvidum neram" - I believe this is sung by a person called Radhika, wonder whether its the cinema star Radhika. Any one to help me on this?

Guys, I'm glad to be back in the DF swing. I was debilitated for nearly four hours yesterday when I couldn't access the DF. The next time this happens I'm going to send e-mail to all of you, I need help, I'm addicted.
Viswa, this is a great topic. I'm excited that there are more and more topics about lyrics now. Here are my initial contributions:
"Athikaalai Nan Paadum Boopaalamae"
"Boopaalam Isaikkum Poomagal"
"Paruvamae Puthiya Paadal" (even though the song's lyrics don't directly speak of the dawn, the music and picturization make this tune an indispensable song about dawn, could there be any better music for the lazy rising of the dawn's rays?)

nANal songs were penned by suradhA and Alangudi sOmu. I don't know which of the two wrote the above song. As you can guess, the song is sung by the female head of the family as she goes around doing her early morning prayers and chores.

Viswa
I agree with Udhaya, anothe evocative and nostalgic topic.
First song that comes to my mind is:
1.Suprabatham from MSS (this is one thing i miss, hence have not gone for those 4 o clock earlly morning walks for many years now)
2. The second song is of IR and this one makes me kiss the dawn and mother earth when the dew and morning flowers have made these two look as if earth is now heaven, and my Annanagar is waiting for her people to step on her and go to the nearest Aavin milk and form long queues! But, I am around jogging after listening to this song on Radio Ceylon, which used to be a ritual kind of song in early 80s between 5:45 and 6:00
From the film Panchami - Udaya Kaalame, Nanainda Meghame.... (sung by P Susheela's childlike voice, and kicked off into the morning mists by one of the most creative opening instrumental ever. Listen to this folks and let me know how you feel about life if you had the same experience in your school-college days!)
Thanks for the topic
Many more to come.
