MANO Sir is really a great singer. Despite being
in such a great and top place ( I mean he was,
is and will always be a great singer, he is known as the best singer beside SPB), Mano sir is a very kind man by nature. He has a kind heart and very very humble. I met him in S'pore when he was invited to host a program in TCS. He was very nice and friendly to everyone. He doesn't choose people to talk. He was kind to all. Normally people like him, when they are at
a top place(like where Mano is now), they will be very proud and walking on air. But in Mano Sir's case, he is really different. He is really down to earth. I really respect him and I will always pray that Mano Sir will sucess to the very top. I love all his songs, no matter what he sings all his songs are really great. For me he is the best,
and his voice will always be in my heart forever.
You guys out there, what do you all think about Mano Sir ? Has anybody talked to him, if there is I'm very sure that you will agree with me. Do
share with me, whatever you have about Mano
Sir. I really like him a lot and would like to know
more about him.

No one would want to question Yamuna's no-holds-barred show of respect to Mano-"SIR" as a person, but I don't think he deserves such unqualified titles like "second only to SPB","great" etc.,
There have been and will be better singers than him.Don't names like K.J.Yesudas,TMS and Unnikrishnan spring to your mind Yamuna?I think Mano is just poor clone of SPB and I am afraid that not many DFers are going to agree with your sentiments.

Hai Yamuna,
I agree with you. Even though so far i have not
talked to him personally but I like him a lot too.
He is really a great singer I will say. I liked him
eversince he started singing until today. Well,
looking at Mano Sir's face itself will tell that he
is a man with a great heart and humble. His smile itself will melt all hearts. Hey, Yamuna you
are really lucky to get a chance to talk to Mano
Sir personally. I really hope that one day i will
get a chance to meet him personally.
I disagree with what Sankaran says, Hallo Mr.
for your information Mano Sir is not a poor clone
okay. He is a great singer with a great voice. He has a blessed god given voice which not everybody will get. And for a great man like Mano Sir...yes 100% he deserves all the titles. Infact he deserves more than that.
For me there can be other singers but no one can replace my Mano Sir..okay.....not even a single man okay. Mr Sankaran....you might not
like our Mano Sir but you don't have to critisice
him. Go on with whom you like but for us all the
great fans of Mano Sir..He is really a great Man.
Infact all of us Mano Sir's fan has a great respect for him...okayy. Yamuna...you are
right...Mano Sir deserves all that respect and more than that. Yes...Mano Sir was, is and will be the best Singer . Long Live Mano Sir!!!

adEngappa,
enna sir Jeevan Rao, ippadi kothichezhunthuteenga.
cool down. Sankaran is just comparing mano with
others technically. Not the character. In fact
i agree with sankaran in the sense that he could
not impress the TFM lovers so far except for the
"Alahiya laila" song which he made a unique mano
style(that's what everybody says). For the period
he is in TFM, working with most of the MDs he did not come up with the 'mano' trade mask as SPB or TMS brought it.
NetRikannai maRupadiyum thiRakka vEndAm. :)
I also like mano songs. esp. "idhayathai thirudAdhE" and "rAjAthi rAjA" songs. IN fact there is an old thread about mano and his songs.

Unbelievable! No playback singer was ever praised so much in this forum. I think Jeevan, Sankaran are close to Mano and they appreciate his character. But his voice as "god given", "top singer","kind heart", "very humble" ??? ..mmmm. Let us see how many TFMers will support/rule this topic. Please refer to the topic "Raja's choice of Mano'.

Wau....ot bad huh!! I will agree fully on Yamuna and Jeevan. They are without any doubt correct in their statement. I'm all the way thumbs up for Mano Sir. His voice is tremendously great and no other singer can be compared to him. This is my choice ok. I like and love him very much. When i listen to his songs, it brings a very (i don't know how to say it) but it's a kind of joy and hapiness that will cover me. I will say it's his voice which is very great. I have attended a few of his concerts and I will agree that Mano Sir is really a kind hearted and humble man. He respects everybody. He has a bright future a head no matter how many new singers come and go. By the way maran, where can I see this "raja's choice of mano"?
Mano Sir deserves all the praise and more.

Jeevan,
You seem to have missed the whole point I was making.I was not talking about Mano's supposed qualities like humility, facial beauty,big-heartedness etc.,I was just comparing his skills at singing with other playbacks. You know that everyone has a right to an opinion on anything.Just as you like to believe that Mano's voice is out-of-the-world,I think I can say my views which happen to be contrary.I don't see any reason why you should indulge in a personal charge at me(I get the respect due to me wherever it matters).Anyway,I don't want to indulge in this mindless bashing anymore.I'm not responding to any more of your thoughts in this thread.

Mano is a great singer. It's true. Well I'm in the same boat as Yamuna, Jeevan and Karthik. Infact Mano is a good and kind man by his nature too. As far as i kknow he had never looked down on others and at the same time he had never talked 'big' about himself. That itself is eally great right. Another thing is that Mano is very simple and always rich with smiles. About his voice well I don't have to mention. His voice is really great too. He is really talented in singing.
Everyday it's a must for me to listen to his songs. Not only that I have a huge collection of his songs. My vote is always for Mano. He is a man whom I look up too. He is a gem of man.

All Mano "Sir" supporters: Since all of you are posting from the same machine and since there is no appreciable difference in the content/language of the posts, I believe you are the same person. Please do not try to build up support for an artist like this, who on his own merit would warrant some support. By doing this you are discrediting not only yourself but Mano too, since no one is going to believe your opinions now.

I just re-read your postings.. The track you are taking is forbidden in the DF. Please maintain some decorum while posting even if it is under a pseudonym. I have edited your post.

Ravi & Stareo,
Just because we are using the same server, it doesn't mean the same person. Everyone has the right to voice out. Just because everyone from the same server supports Mano Sir, you can't come up with such a conclusion.

I've met Mano too. This was many years back, in the UK and he gave an excellent perforamance. I personally like him, as he pronounces Tamil very well, in comparison to SPB(He reads the music in Telungu, hence the words have a Telugu tinge to them - Example - ILANCHOLAI POOTHADHA - He sings IlanJolai Poothadha, if you listin to Malaysia Vasudevan singing the same song, also in the soundtrace, you'll know what I mean.....)
He is indeed a humble guy, at the end of the programme, I went up on stage, there was some trouble going on and he was being pulled off stage, but he still took the time to say Hi and sign an autograph. This really touched me. I feel that MD's give him some strange songs like 'Ey Shabba' from Karna, which make him sing in a false voice.
IR saw talent in this guy, otherwise, he would have kept using SPB, don't you think?!?!?
Of course, I won't say that he's the best singer, as you appear to have forgotten about TMS, KJJ, Unni Krishnan and Hariharan......

hi sankaran,
i fully agree with your statement that everyone is entitled to his /her opinion. but don't you think it is a bit too much to bracket unnikrishnan with the likes of kjj or tms. ( iknow this is a digression to the topic)
it is common knowledge that Raja promoted Mano to show that he is not dependant on balu but had to eat humble pie ( i'm sure even raja's diehard fans cannot dispute the sequence of events)
that does not diminish the quality of mano who has worked as assistant to gkvenkatesh, msv and raja singing tracks for many songs, teaching the songs to the singers etc before he got his break. unlike MV who could not even establish himself as a clone to TMS, Mano became to balu what mohan was to kamal.
mano has indeed sung many songs well but i tend to agree with some surfer's view that he has not created an identity of his own.
i agree with yamuna and co that personally he is a fine person. my uncle has interacted with him when he had just begun his career. i will check with him and revert with any personal incidents.
PS: in our young days, we used to take sides for sivaji vs mgr, kamal vs rajini and allowed that to take precedence over our relationship. i thought we had outgrown that phase but i am appalled that given the quality of our surfers, our DF still suffers from x vs y syndrome. i am sure we will all be able to voice our opinions and thoughts without malicious comparison. comparison is itself bad but it is tough to be so objective. so let's try and get malice out of our postings.

Badri,
I fully agree with your views.KJY and TMS are in a
class by themselves and UK has not definitely entered that exclusive club yet.But you should look at things in the proper context.I mentioned his name amid all the mindless Mano-"Sir"-worship that was going on.
