6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!
Source :HinduTimes

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

surely i did not answer ur question Sorry about it.. I loved AE couple of songs, one song the best which is Nenjam!! and another was Janaganamana, in my opinion AE is good.. but KKS and Meenaxi Rocks!!
AE will be hummed and the listening will reduce until NEW or someother movie comes along. If AE is good as a movie then it would stay for a long time, but if the movie fails, the songs will surely loose interest.. but MEENAXI and KKS i dont care, the songs will be heard for a very long time.. that is my opinion and sometimes the hard truth!!

Thnx for replying back MIL.......Actually i plan to come there one day,but not now.........it'll take another 2-3 yrs......so stay there sir, till i come.......btw i stopped listening to Kurt "bhai" as i think i have grown out of nirvana......i've also grown out of ARR-fanatism.......KKS and Meenaxi surely rocked........In mumbai, chinnamma chilakkamma is really whipping the a$$ of anu maliks and jatin lalits.........In AE as usual i like "Fanah" and "Hey good bye nanba"........ they are gorgeous no.s.bye and take care......
Ms.aish, goodbye nanba is supposed to have steamy scenes of Trisha-sidd (according to sources)...........so its better we dunt watch the song......hahahahahahaha

Songs are not very good at all. Nunjam song sounds inspired from Boom Boom song by 69 brothers.

AE and Yuva are quite good...however one expects more FRom Rahman. I think he has over- indulged himself with the techno beats!
And once again no SP Balu singing on this album.

MADDY,
I sincerely feel ARR's true competition in HINDI is SEL nobody else.. so AM and JL cannot be compared as a competition.

Dinesh, if you read my posting carefully you would have seen that i said Boom Boom sung by the 69 brothers and not Boom Boom in Boys.
You get it right man.
ARR has lost his touch completely in AE. The songs don't sound as though they are for a tamil movie. What crap is this? Who is he trying to kid? And Mani okayed the songs? I guess the film will be as "good" as the songs
- From: curses (@ 203.101.34.5)
on: Sun Mar 21 11:41:42 EST 2004
Ravi,
Well,It's a tamil film by Mani Ratnam. Based on youth.
What do u expect if it's a tamil film? One mandotary village song w/ ladies yodeling their throats out.. a melody that wrenches out tears like a leaking dam, a dappanguthu song for the "masses" who pretty much make asses outta themselves w/ vulgar steps, a song w/ thathuvams liberally sprinkled like sugar on a bourbon biscuit, and one song where the hero pretty much has a running race against the heroine and the heroine ends up winning it!
Ok, i might have exaggerated a lil bit here.. :)
But still, is it a rule that a tamil film shouldnt have tracks that have zipping beats, a bit of trance, exotic strings, and on the whole, an amazing tempo.
It's sad that the songs didnt appeal to u. But there are a lot more ppl here who feel the album is brilliant.
Just a matter of perception.

If this album does not become a hit, I wonder which other of ARR's will. It appears that ARR has tried hard to make sure he will remain at the top of TFM by incorporating "hit" elements from the past and continuing present, while at the same time embellishing each song with his own brand of lovely music and terrific aalabanai's.
The tenor of Fanaa and Good Bye Nanba is unmistakeably that of Kaakha Kaakha (which was a super hit as far music is concerned) at places. This is not to say that ARR copied, but just that he has understood the pulse of the audience and has worked hard to cater to the current taste. The first interlude of Sanda kozhi reminds ever so faintly of that timeless folk classic by IR "aatukutti mutta ittu". There are traces of the hit song from Boys that goes "boom boom" in Nenjam ellam, and this is not entirely due to Adnan Sami being in both! Jana Gana Mana, at places, reminds one of the hit song Columbus columbus in Jeans.
All the above are just insignificant nitpicks, if one looks at the whole album in full. The album has good music (even if "violent" at times), some nice aalabanai's, and lovely melody (in Nejam ellam). Good work by ARR.

curses...good 1 !!!that really cracked me up!!
musc4eva...yes its true, rahman have followed Kaake Kaake style in those songs..but i somehow feel AE will be apricitated more coz of its ORIGINALITY!!;)
