New Page for Rare Hits of Ilayaraaja

I have put up a new webpage with rare hits collection of Maestro Ilayaraaja. I will try to put those songs that are either not commonly found nor available in other TFM pages. Please visit:

  Rex: Not at all.I can understand the difficulty. Please dont get worked ovre such mixups. Afterall we are doing the easier part of sitting here ans asking the sngs.   I think we should start a separate page where the requested songs could be listed. This way the new comers would also know what have been requested. It may also hint on the magnitude of the requests you are handling and will clearly show all how and when to proceed with their choices.
  
  Regarding IR's mallu hits:
  
  It seems Shibu is extremely interested in hosting them and has asked me to send the songs on a cassette. I am sending "poongatrile" also with it. you may ask him for a copy of the cassette and have it for yourself. If one of you could host "poongatrile" I will be grateful.

  Whether you send it to Shibu or myself, it does not make any difference as both of us alongwith like-minded fans like MPR, Vels, Balaji etc are working in tandem to bring the best out of IR to the web.
  
  As he is making painstaking efforts in publishing Raaja's Dravidian hits (Telugu, Kannada, Mal, Tamil), I think you can send him the cassette so that he can take care of the Mallu hits.
  
  In the meanwhile, I will go ahead with the Tamil hits. No problem at all.
  
  I could really see a lot of sustained coordination among the IR fans after February, this year.....Previously when I used to be very active in DF, I used to just see responses being posted about IRs rare hits....but now, people have started discussing about those hits by referring to these new pages dedicated to Raaja, which is great!!
  
  Moreover many people are feeling as though they are very near home....
  
  Kudos to each one of you, who are taking an active role in all these efforts.

  the mp3 songs are terrific. since ,many of the new songs are easily available in CD's is it possible for u to upload more songs from the early 80s in mp3 format? for example, songs like 'adikaalai nerame' would be terrific to hear in mp3 format.

  It is very difficult to upload "Adhikaalai Nerame" in MP3 format. Remember MP3 format is good only for those songs which are of very good quality (recording and orchestration wise). In Adhikaalai Nerame type of songs you do not have those things. Also the other problem is that I did noise removal to my .WAV files and then uploaded the RA file. Now if you try to convert that .WAV file to an MP3 file, it will give a Ringing Noise (something like singing from a pipe organ with kreeching noise accompanying it).
  
  Thus MP3 files cannot be thought of for all songs. Only when the orchestration and recording quality is good, MP3 files are a success. Or else it is a very big flop.

  Regarding Noise Removal!
  Here is the information, that could be useful. Record just the noise and save it. You can do this very easily. Now open up your wave file and you can use your noise file to form multi band filters to remove the noise from your source. I haven't tried this, so don't know how to do it by myself. Everything is done by using cool edit.

  Did you listen to India 24 Hours?? Though it is not like HTNI or NBW, it is a class of its own. Raaja picks up a theme music, and gives different perceptions of the same theme throughout the album. I am sure you would have noticed that. I am not sure how far you guys are able to appreciate the beauty of this album in RealAudio. Therefore, I will try my best to bring out the MP3 version for all the RA numbers of I24Hours. When you sit and listen to I24 Hours numbers (17 numbers in total) continuously, you will feel how soothing it is. My room-mate who is a strong ARR fan himself agreed that this album from Raaja is simply great and wanted to know where he can get the album....
