Vaali is As good As Kannadasan..

TFM has not given That much Respect AS given to Kannadasan

  Vaali in not only a film composer. His literary and devotional contributions are exemplary. His songs were recently demonstrated by Seerkhazhis son Sivachidambaram in Jaya Tv breakfast show to express his contributions to tamilisai. Thinathanthis musicseason review report and Hindu review on the Tamil isai sangam concert of Sivachidambaram had a special mention about Vaalis song "Aaruthalai Vazhangum Aaruthalai irukka" on Lord Muruga sung years back by his father on record, also written by Vaali.
  
  Only then I reorganised my strong opinion of this "Dolaaaku Dol Doppi Maa" Kavignar Vaali. (Ofcourse print media brings his new poetic versions of Ramayana and Mahabharatha too!- That apart.)

  I differ a bit here
  
  I accept Vaali as talented as KD , but vaali has made so many compromises that makes him no match to KD.KD never wrote very vulgar songs like " samjadhu eppidi ". Could have made some limitations not to write such songs

  Vaali Inspite of KD's Domination Managed to give Simple Lyrics.. Particulary For MGR Vaali has written Very GoodGems..
  For MGR's Political Ladder Vaali's Pen was also a Major Reason.. Mgr himself has told this..

  I agree to you., Vaali was able to make a real impact when Kannadasan was the virtual kind of the field., I like his simple approach towards writing, He is always concerned that even a paamaran should be able to understand his lyrics, (Pazani Bharathi also Mentioned this in one of his interviews)., MGR had a similar opinion about lyrics and that was the main reason their combo clicked., We can go on listing Gems from this pair.,
  
  One more thing which surprises me is, the way Vaali has changed himself depending on the situation of TFM., Like Ambassador Cars, He is always there, Be it MSV period, or IR period or ARR period, or Deva (??) Period, or YSR-Harris Jeyaraj Period - Vaali is there always doing some respectful job., (A similar list could be given to the Actors for whom he has written, He is versatile, One cannot deny that).,
  
  Vaali has written about everything, For every emotion, I could think of something which Vaali has written, When I am depressed on something, Only lines I could remember are Bharathi's 'Nallathoor veeNai seythee athai nalamkedap puzuthiyil eRivathuNdoo, Solladi sivasakthi ennai sudar mikum aRivudan padaiththu vittaay' and Vaali's 'NaaLai ennum naaLai nambungaL'., I don't remember any cineLyrics which is in the scales of 'Pirivu Enpathee uRavukkaakaththaan' or 'Ammaa enDRazaikkaatha uyirillaiyee'., If vaali is able to make such an impact with a cinelyrics, I wonder what he could have done with his thanik kavithaikaL, (I have a complaint here - Except Avathaara Purushan, He hasn't tried anything great in kavithai field, He is capable of doing wonders, But just not taking the initiative)
  
  The main complaint about Vaali is that he is writing some sexy stuff, I don't feel anything wrong in that, it depends on the movie situation and the way director wants it., If you take that as a scale, then I bet each one of the lyricsts in this TFM wrote like that somepoint of time., I don't know what is the english equivalent for the word 'NaLinam'., Antha maathiri paadalkaLai naLinamaaka ezuthuvathum oru kalai enDRuthaan ninaikkiReen., For example, see these lines by Vaali (From Movie 'Selvaa' - SiRpi is the MD, SPB, Swarnalatha singers)

  I am listening to Vaali's 'Vaththik Kuchchi' song from Dheena now, See the second saraNam - You can understand how positive this guy is.,

  With such an attitude, I believe he will be writing for more and more years and even my grandchildren will be enjoying his lyrics.,

  what a multi-facet lyricist he is spaning over 40 years or so in TFM.

  like ye Azhagiye Theeye..
  
  See he has described Fire as beautiful means the Girl..
  How simple & Poetic....

  Till now Vaali's Pen Plays the Required Magic ..The main Reason behind the qn u asked is HE's not goin behind Popularity or Fame...He gives What is Required for the Film...
  
  And If u Ask Any one in the Film Industry They'll Say Vaali is aman who changes himself to various stages an pens his lyrics..
  
  For eg::When Shankar wanted a seq for Prabu-deva in Kaadalan...(MUQABALA) which was penned in 5 min's by vaali which VM couldnt ...
  
  But takin this sample dont misjudge His Poetic Writings...He's the man who uses simple lyrics so that even a Layman can understand that...
  
  When he started his career he wrote songs like Karchilai yendralum kandane unai maraven
  (non-film songs)
  
  I cannot give the Entire List I'll Mention few of his memorable ones whice were left in u'r list

  These all are Samples and he has written for all Md's like R.sudharsanam,K.V mahadevan, T.G.Lingappa,Sankar-ganesh,V.Kumar(Which was ultimate),S.V.venkatraman, T.R.Paapa,Kunnakudi vaidyanadhan,Gangai amaran,Sirpi,Deva,S.A.Rajkumar etc
  
  Particularly For REhman..His lyrics were Beautiful ..
  
  His work with rehman started with Uzhavan i which all songs were varieties...For eg Pennala Pennala OOdhapoo,Kangalil yenna eerama, Rakozhi 2 muzhichuruku
  
  Then chiku bukku rayilu,Parkathe in Gentle man
  
  Muqabala in KAADALan
  
  Then Came INDIAN in which 3 songs were Penned by him
  
  Akkada -Youthful
  Maya Machindra-Romantic
  Kappaleri Poyachu-Longingness
  Particularly in this song

  c now nice it is and more over new -modern words like pager , cell phone etc he uses in his songs..

  And Ultimately Kaadalar dinam..
  It ran BEcause of Music & songs only No doubt in that

  How fantastic is the Lyrics ..No more a poet can describe the Beauty of a Girl..
  
  Other Song was Roja Roja which was Ultimate for lyrics

  and his Writings continues
  
  And From Olden Period till now Letter songs were beautifully Penned by him only

  SO finally Concluding Vaali has achieved the Pinnacle long back but he doesnt care Personally for his Publicity..
  
  And more over Avadara Purushan & Paandavar Boomi were also excellent Which was read many people and that Proved his Knowledge on Tamil..
  
  So VAALI IS ALWAYS AN EVERGREEN POET who shouldnt b compared with any fellow poet...
