  As you may be aware, almost every day, Rajesh and Kalai send link for a PS song thru our Yahoo group and the same is being posted in the site Http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/Psusheelafans.
  
  Sometime back, Rajesh posted a good news that such link/s for PS' songs will be shared in this thread also.
  
  From now onwards, we would try to do justice to our commitment :-))
  
  Today, it is Oriya song sung by PS alongwith another singer.

  Raj, In the same link please do hear 'Baanige Neeliya' song from film 'Bidugade'. MD M.Ranga Rao, beautifully sung by PBS and PS. This is so Romatnic. And one more song in the same movie 'Nanna Putta Samsaara' nice solo from PS.

  pl. give details of a telugu movie.
  1.krishnam raju , jayaprada and jayasudha starring movie .In the climax, jayapradha do a classical dance in front of lord shiva and the song is "sambo sivasankara". another song from the movie is "virisina vayasule sogasule" (jayapradha dance ). can U get the other details. All the songs were good in that movie.
  2.vani vishwanath, jyothi, sureash starring movie. Father-in-law is a blind man, mother-in-law is arogant(rajasulochana). I heared a beautiful luulaby by PS "jolalai".
  Can U get the details like movie ame and MD.
  3. "manase ihda naa makarandam" a duet by SPB-PS and I think MD is IR. can U get the movie name ?

  SOme how not able to recollect the initial two words.. ;-(
  That movie has another good song
  "Anuragam Virisina Roju Ille Kovela Ee Roju..." (Duet by Mano and PS). Incidentally this is one of the movies where all songs are by Mano and PS.

  I think the movie name is "Chinna Kodalu". PS was the lead singer in most of Bappilahari composed movies. She also sang in Sankharavam *ing Krishna and Bhanupriya. I do not remember the songs. Can somebody give the details?

  "chinna kodalu" had a song in climax also by PS and she sing for both jyothi and vani vishwanath in pooja room.

  Hi all
  In "sangeetha sagaram" program (Asianet) PS mentioned that "she is a devotte of lata mangeshkar". she also told, she improved her style of singing with lata's songs. she appreciated her bhavam and pronounsation. She spoken about mr.Nausahd ali and few songs under his music dirction. It was really nice to know about them.
  She has sung "malare malare theriyadha" , a tamil hit from "Then nilavu" and it was really good. other two malayalam songs are "pamaram palungu kondu" and " karutha ..." .
  Lyrict O.N.V. kurup was highly appreciated the song "pamaram palungu kondu" which was penned by P.Bhaskaran and music by Baburaj. Asianet passed a comment "he had 100 tongues( nooru nAvugal),when speaking about "pamaram palunku kondu" song"". really a good song.

  Long time no post from me :-( While dusting my old notes, an interesting episode came into my hand.
  
  Vani Jayaram, who is one of my fav’s other than PS, opened an Audio shop near Alwarpet (Chennai) sometime in 1980. It was a simple inaugural function. VJ invited P. Susheela as the chief guest and requested her to cut the ribbon. Hearing this, I also just peeped in. As VJ being a close relative of my dad’s close friend, I just took privilege to chat with her. [A slight de-tour: It was interesting to see VJ wearing a ‘madisaar” pudavai in her relative’s marriage which I attended with my dad :-)].... Ok, the chat was on while waiting for PS’ arrival.
  
  VJ recalled 2 incidents, which am scribing in my style :-0
  
  1. When “malligai en mannan mayangum” became a super hit, there was so much disturbances in bollywood; even comments like “jasmine” flower song is a hit in madaraas… whether Vani will become a popular singer there??? Quoting this, someone had asked PS (who was at peak that time) “whether VJ will be a threat to you”. PS was cool and responded “If anyone is blessed to become a great singer, it will happen… ellam avanga appa amma seidha puNNiyam”.

  2. This was regarding the recording of a song from “Sivappukal Mookkuthi”. PS and VJ sang “Managala malai magaL varuha” for Sridevi and Roja RamaNi respectively. I guess it was in 1977-78. The track recording was pushed into use heavily, those days. And this song too was track-recorded initially. MSV, the MD, was not so happy that there was scale difference between PS and VJ, even though the recording was good. MSV was particular about the “thogayara” or preface before the pallavi starts. It starts with something like “Vedhathin oLiye potri” or so by PS. The last line in that part by VJ was not so dear to MSV and he wanted to record it again, that too with both the singers together. As the days of “singers get together in recording” had gone, there was resistance from production. The hitch was how to convince PS. VJ said it all happened with just one call to PS and the recording was again done with PS and VJ singing together.

  After sharing the above, VJ thoughtfully said “PS was always magnanimous”.
  
  Yes, the cutting the ribbon was done with all smiles and claps, of course good smile on !! I remember PS did the first-purchase of six cassettes (devotional ) sung by MS Subbulakshmi and VJ.

  Last week P.Jayachandran give a special mention about this song in asianet program. "kalyana sougandika poongavanathile" from the movie "vAzhve mayam"(malayalam). He told all PS songs in malayalam films are hits. he appreciated the melody in her songs. pl. find the link.

  Thank U fot the sharing. Till now i coudlnt see any of her live programmes. It is nice to read ur experiences thru this thread. As u written about VJ, I like to say about one of my favourite VJ song. In a day atleast once I listen VJ's "ennullil engo engum geetham" from rosapoo ravikkaikAri. ( VJ did a wonderful job- enna oru bhavam ). what a song!!!!

  Akbar Salim Anarkali was a hit movie (songs were hit for sure)which got released in 1978. With NTR towards the fag end of his film career, it was kind of strange to have Rafi as the key playback singer in the movie when Ghantasala was the regular for decades before that. But there are Akbar and Salim in the movie, Muslims, Urdu speaking guys and they were not supposed to be speaking good Telugu(!!).
  
  Anyway, coming to music, the Hindi music giant C.Ramachandra was the composer for this movie. Of course, it is well known that the Hindi movie Anarkali has music by C.Ramachandra. I am not sure if he re-used any of his old hindi tunes for this movie but the songs pretty much were along the lines of Hindi songs of those days but they fit well with the nature/mood of the movie. Rafi and PS sand all the songs. The three songs (which were hit and regularly occupy spots on the Vividh Bharathi station) which come to my mind immediately are
  a) Sipayee O Sipayee
  b) Taralenthagaa meriseno
  c) Taane meli musugu.

  Oh, what lovely songs they are! Rafi (my fav. Hindi playback singer) sings gloriously these songs which are tailor-made for him. PS compliments him beautifully with her melodious voice. My favorite in this list is Taaralenthagaa - Lovely song.

My dad's friend's brother's wife...:-) Innoru samacharam: Pazhaya cinema sambandha patta personality (Railways-la periya aaLu) called Natesa Iyer. AvangaLudhaya peranin samsaaram VJ...Ok yaa?
