April Maathathilae ---YuvanShankarRaja's latest

Check out this latest album from YSR .Its really cool.Two songs are truly amazing

1.Poi solla----YSR
Yuvanshankarraja has sung the song himself and the melody is soothing and the feel is really impressive.YSR is improving his singing abilities too.
2.Aee Nenjae----Harish Raghavendar,Sadhana Sargam.
This song is the most romantic song of the album.Superbly rendered by both the singers .The BGMs in this song shows a little bit of IR touch but very good.
YSR could have avoided using Silambarasan for one song.

  very good album songs like "poi solla", "yeh neenjai", "manasae manasae" and "kanavuhal" are very much impressive and it is better after not so impressive kadhal samrajiyam and junior-senior

  Here is my review of this album. Since getting ti I have been stuck on this album. YSR has made great strides since his last album, and that's a good thing even though I totally loved Kadhal Samrajyam!
  1 Poi Solla - YSR - YSR is singing very well now, he has put a lot of effort into ensuring his voice is cultured and sounds great. (10/10)
  2 O Nenje - Harish Raghavendra, Sadhana Sargam - another beautiful song by YSR. The orchestration is superb and is a really heart warming song. YSr has matured in his music and this song sticks in your mind. (10/10)
  3 Manase Manase - Karthik - Another good song, however Karthik must ensure to have a bit of variety in his singing techniques to avoid boring his listeners with his monotonous voice. The song is peppy and will catch on. (9/10 due to Karthiks singing)
  4 Kanuvugal Pookkum - SPB, Shalini - A good song, SPB as usual is amazing, but the newcomer Shalini doesn't lift the song to a greater standard with her voice, she is more of a hinderance. YSR could have avoided this newcomer for this song and allowed a more able singer to sing with SPB. (8.5/10 Due to Shalini's singing)
  5 Azhagaana Aangal - Prasanna - Yet another great song by YSR. The singer Prasanna must be a newcomer as well but is good, and can grow to become a popular singer. The song is melodious and will be a hit. (9/10)
  6 Sight Adippom - T.R. Silambarasan, Karthik - This is a catchy song, but I don't know why YSR has used T.R.Simbu for this song. Maybe it is for the star value that he has. Also because more and more actors and actresses are singing, maybe Simbu wanted to cash in on the action. All I can say is Simbur better not give up his day job. the song would have been fine with just Karthik singing, and I'm not a Karthik fan so that's saying something! (8/10)
  
  Overall however I would give this album a 9.5/10. YSR has really raised his game and made me sit up and listen to his music. Normally I am an ARR guy myself, but since Dheena, I have been slowly swaying to YSR's side. After listening to Kadhal Virus, I thought it would be hard for another album to compete with it but April Maathathilae has knocked KV off the top spot in my rating.
  Also YSR says that Mounam Peasoyadhe is his best release to date, so that means it will be better than April Maathathilae! Well this is going to be a good contest between YSR's album's as I think it will be hard to beat AM. But who can say, MP may be the album we have all been waiting for.

  The best song of the album is the duet "oh nenje en nenje" by harish raghavendra and sadhana sargan.followed by poi solla by Yuvan shankar himself.

  You will have to go to a Audio shop to get the Cassette or CD's TO GET THE SONGS. Tamilterra, tamilbeat, mohankumars only host illegal copies of these songs as MP3's. NOM :-)

  1.Hey nenje
  standard song... not very impressed with it.it reminds me of an old illayaraja song.too high pitched i thot.probably,will grow on u after many listenings.choice of singers not good.should have selected a better male singer
  I would give a 6/10
  
  2.manase manase
  orchestration is poor.could have used violin..ilayaraja would have made very good use of violin with such a tune i thot.again the choice of singer is baaad.kartik has a monotonous voice and it sounds very dull.
  I would give a 6.5/10
  
  3.kanavukal pookum
  good song..good vocals tho shalini could have done it better.spb was very good in this song.yuvan should certainly learn a lot from his father about orchestration. I liked the violin bit in the second interlude.it was refreshing .
  I would give it a 9/10
  (I dont understand how people compare this to kadhal virus. KV is way too good i feel.This is entirely my opinion)
  
  4.Azhagana Aangal
  a new singer ..prasanna this time. she has a good voice..seems to be a very different song in the first listening.lyrics are not very good ..had the usual references of playboy etc...
  the song changes to a dappanguthu in the middle but the transition to modern beats is not very good.it looks as if it had been done in a hurry.raaja...konjum solli kudunga sir..
  i would give a 7/10
  
  5.sight adippom
  a funny galatta song...i liked it the first time i listened to it.it reminds me of kasu mela song. lyrics are good i felt for a typical galatta song.
  i would give a 9/10
  6.poi solla
  as such the tune and the orchestration is good..but it was very bad in one aspect...vocals..! i dont know what prompted yuvan to sing this song.it could have been done much much better by some seasoned singer.so sad that a good tune has been wasted by him.seems to follow the raaj tradition of kodharufying his own songs sometimes .

  I don't think KV is better than this. KV is way too ordinary in every sense. I mean come on nothing is new in that album. ARR keeps repeating the same tune. Poi Solli vocal may not be impressive as if the all the vocals in ARR music are good. But the composition is great in this song. Inspite of average vocal from YSR i think this is the winner in the album for the composition. I know these 'youth' type of songs last only for an year or so. KV, AM .. but still first impression is the best impression... AM gives a better first impression than KV. KV is a sub-standard album. I can tell this on the face of ARR as it is true.

  Listened to RamaNa and disappointed - I felt Murugadas should have asked for YSR for this movie also, who gave excellent songs for his first movie 'Dheena' !
  
  NOM to IR, But this album lacks something which dheena had - comparing in the sense both are action based movies !

  I am replying to all ARR fans knowing fully well nothing can reach their ears. IR music admirers(being I am ) never say all IR songs are great, unlike ARR fans, for them every ARR songs are super duper songs. Basic difference of opinion arises when ARR fans(only few of them though) saying that ARR has achieved every thing in music like national/international/world popularity etc. etc. It is a well known fact in TFM which is a common ground for comparison, ARR has long.. way to go. He has not done music for all types of music like Historical, Village, Serious, Budget movies , Children themes,Classical , Art films which no one can deny. I am not limiting the innovations ARR has brought to TFM.May be in the future ARR can cover this, but this point of time he has not done so far. I have not heard Ramana so far. We need to see the situation and themes. Example, when KJY first sung Neeyum bombai, he thought his career is doomed in TFM. That song was not good, but situation and context demanded that type of song. Ofcourse the same argument applicable for KV as well.

  I agree with you, But I am not a disappointed IR fan, I very much liked (and listen everyday to his kaasi and azaki this year - Devan, EMV and RamaNa are disappointing !
