Shankar's BOYS has Kapilan wroting Lyrics for A R Rahman, pictutisation and song lyrics here

Director Shankar who is making Boys talks about the song picturization of one of the songs from the film. "The song picturization was supposed to symbolize simplicity. Sabu Syril came up with four idea for creating sets with all old discarded items like bottle, rusted vessels, twigs, plastic covers and so on. Lyricist Kapilan wrote lines to match the sets and the theme. Rahman gave excellent music for the same!" The song is:

  Without the following words I'm not so sure:
  -pisaasu
  -raatchasi
  -kollaathae
  -thinnaathae
  -pidungaathae
  -arukkaathae
  -thuppattaa
  -moochu
  -swaasam
  -echchil
  -viyarvai
  -mugapparu
  -macham
  -machini
  
  or phrases like: thaaimozhi marandhaen, en peyar marandhaen, manjapoosi kuli, udalil narambaanaen, nagathil azhukkaanaen...
  
  not to mention the English buzz words like graphics, laser, hardware...
  
  Kapilaa nee vaazhgaa un pani oanguha.
  
  Can't wait to hear this song, but then Suckwinder or worse might end up singing it, so I better curb my enthusiasm.

  BTW, what does Shankar mean by simplicity? Does putting together a gaudy set with Trash, plastic and such junk amount to 'simplicity'?
  
  Shankar is becoming a monster of his own making like TR!
  Looking at the lyrics (which Vikatan promptly praises thanks to the usual Shankar-PR effort.. remember their stories about the 'highlights' of Jeans, Mudhalvan etc.?), it appears that this man Kapilan is a firm believer/follower of the Vairamuthu Algorithm:

  There's no blatant refrain as in VM's algorithms. If it had been VM, the whole song would have lines ending in "Vaazhvoam". Kapilan has got stuff, it's evident. And being a male, he would probably fare better in the chauvenistic cine field than the equally talented Thamarai.
