Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”

Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.

Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

  mr.cccc, ajay devgan is a wrong choice????? he is the only genuine actor along with akshay khanna in hindi......he is way ahead of surya in style,looks,charisma......
  guys, dunt get angry but look at this unimpressive story writer maniratnam...
  1.pagal nilavu(rip off from God-father)
  2.Nayagan(God father-2)
  3.Anjali(ET, well he started making it like ET and ended up making a senti movie)
  4.Mouna ragam(pretty similar to nenjathhai killathey)
  5.Dhalpati(Mahabharta's karna story)
  6.Roja (Doraisamy's real story)
  7.Bombay (My beautiful city's real-sad story)
  8.Iruvar( MGR-karunanidhi's real story)
  9.Kannathil mutham( real story of a ceylone girl featured in kumudam)
  10.Uyire(Terrorist)
  
  then wat the heck is original with this guy???? but i love his directorial skills.....but he needs a good script writer.....Mr.Mani, i have totally 5 amazing,never-heard of scripts......

  Maddy,
  That does not put down the genius of ManiRatnam in any manner. Inspirations are inevitable. The fact that he has taken many real life situations only suggests his great ability of handling emotional ones. The story may have been similar, but the way he handled earned him more name. All IMO.

  yenna solla vara nee ? mathathu yeppadiyo , but dalapathi can easily be called as Modern Day Mahabharatha. the concept itself is taken from Mahabharatha's Karna-Duryodhan-Arjun-Kunti story.

  Guys guys just relax...
  I dont think there is anything wrong with what maddy said.
  Maniratnam is a fantasic director. And the first director in Indian cinema to use technical stuff in movies.
  He brings the best out of actors in terms of performances. Knows how to market his movies excellently.
  No one denied that.
  
  But Maniratnam himself has said this about the movie dhalapathy.
  "Everytime you hear the mahabarat karna story, you feel for karna...That inspired me to do a movie based on karna in todays world with a different ending". This he said after the movie when people asked him "If he changed the climax. becase rajni fans will not accept the death of rajni".
  
  So just chill and do not fight. And nothing is wrong in what mani has been doing. In fact it is all the more tough to take some real life story like iruvar, knowing the idiotic political fan following of tamilnadu..
