Its getting pretty stale at the DF, with TOO many threads discussing the same old stuff and fighting over the same issues a bazillion times :) ...too many folks gatecrashing in a flash of inspiration and bringing in threads that take 3,4 posts...so here's a little eulogy to all those blessed faithfuls who still keep the forum going :-)) and a hope that this DF goes from strength to strength in the days to come :)

Prabhu, stats ellam enakku nenavukku varaadhu! Only DoB's I remember :) Enna vacation-aa? Enjoy pannunga.
C~P, Boys album parava illai :) I liked Boom Boom, Girlfriend, Dating, Alle Alle (thank God it was not the alle alle of 1 2 ka 4), and Please Sir. However, ARR's best was in the nineties. Minsara Kanavu, Kandukonden Kandukonden, Rhythm, AP, En Swaasa Kaatre, Sangamam, Taal, Dil Se all had wonderful songs.
Magix, suprabaatham alavukku Boys album-i thookittingale :) Enjoy.

I met Saravanan! -SPLIT POST 1
It was Thursday 27.06.2003 morning.I called up Saravanan to confirm the evening appointment.
I checked up the small slips of paper in my pocket.Good! I had done my homework well.Ransacking my little brain the previous night i had managed to build some queries which might take the "Chip" off-guard.Hope man!Just hope!
I had given the details about my "extraordinary looks" for easy identification.Landed up in the front side of Mashreq Bank,Sharjah at the appointed hour I was watching every 50+ man with Indian looks, suspiciously. From nowhere comes a young man in his very-early 30s with a broad and easy smile "Hi!OISG" .(He says he is comfortable addressing me this way than my original name).
Now I have to do what David Frith did after India won the world cup in 1983.I have to do a lot of e-eating!Saravanan is indeed 32.We had mutually agreed earlier, over phone, to avoid talking about two things ,CA and office. That suited me as he ,a humble person, thinks that he has not done enough in those areas and I ,humbler further, have actually acheived that. The talk was purely on TFM and TFM only.

I met Saravanan - SPLIT POST 2
Now comes the critical part.I have to prove that I know something about TFM which he did not know.First 10 questions were met with AK-56 and my stock was over.Inside voice was yelling "Padhungidu mavane!Ella nee gaali".But the king-sized ego had manged two questions which Saravanan did not answer.Well! That calls for a port.......but I did not know the answer either.I settled for beer the next day!(For academic interest the 2 questions were 1.What were the other songs in Nyamam Ketkirom an AVM Rajan Starrer which had a good TMS song "Vervai ThuLigale Pesungal" 2. In which movie was the song "Petreduppathu annai kadan matarathellam annai kadan piranthen oru piravi")
One fascinating thing i found out was that his special liking for the songs of 1970s.I told him they are my choice too.
Unknowingly this fish was caught in the net .When the first set of casual questions came on the 1970s songs............You know i have a good smile!the next 30 minutes session was a lesson on the 1970s songs.I had absolutely no anwers It was time to surrender and learn and get the taste of the songs from his massive collection. It was a treat of sorts!
All the songs of Nilave Nee Satchi ,Kettathellam naan tharuven from Thikku theriyatha kaatil,Adinathan from Ganga Gauri,Anbu vanthathu from Sudarum SooravaLiyum.,Pani mazhai megangal,Naan ennum pozhuthu,Nee Ninaitha neram ellam,Manikaa padumaikku,Kaiodu kai serkkum ........I once again lived thru my childhood days.
I asked him about the Salanam song "Paniye vaa Panju Mazhaye vaa" - Hmmmm!Brought back the memories of a pattupavadai Dhawani and a kodai jimikki!
I got my long-time doubts like "Who is the MD for Vellai Kamalthile?" cleared.I had asked this doubt to everyone from Ramki to Sriram in TFM page like Kaundamani ( Enga! eppo kada vettuvanga?)
That was followed by a great Sambar saadham (We were listeneing to a lot of Gemini s songs and the dinner was a tribute!).
Memorable evening ........even that would be an understatement. While getting back to Dubai by taxi the song i was humming "Saravanan sonnan Sankaran kettan". He is and has a library for TF Songs.(The MD for this song is Vkumar ,another Saravanan s favourite.)
Today I got one more treat! How many of you would get a chance to listen to the complete lyrics of the SOTD "Managi oru ThingaL". over phone? What strikes you more is the person s tremendous inclination to share the information & knowledge even with a person whom he has met for the first time.God bless him.He knows as much about PS,SJ (his favourite!) as VJ on whom he has done an elaborate chronology. With a shy smile,he says,he can even do one on anyone from Harini and NC Vasanthakokilam from S G Kittappa to Karthik.
Thanks to BB and TFM page.
I have an invitation from Cosmician too( I gave him no choice but to call me!).Boy! I have started liking Dubai!

I met OISG:
Well, since he has written his part, I think its only fair that I too record my impressions.
Seeing the name OISG, I too had prepared myself for a serious looking bespectacled person in the wrong side of 30s, but I was caught unawares by a beaming face, full of good cheer and fun. (The best part was- I could see him speaking to me on my mobile and I was replying to him, as I was nearing him, but he didn't know it was me!)
And let him not stretch his modesty too much- he is extremely knowledgeable about even what I consider really rare songs, has a very good voice, and an amazing knowledge of classical music as well.
And here's something that had (and still has) me ROTFL- when I showed him my song collection, he bent down in mock reverence----and suddenly recoiled in horror--the cassette that his hand had touched was titled 'Thaana vandha Gaana'- a collection of 'Gaana' songs by Deva- I can never forget the hurt look on his face :-))))
Well, since then, we have been talking to each other almost daily, and have met again, and I am really happy that he has come to Dubai.
Now, I no longer need to wander lonely as a cloud---!

Hi Prabhu,
Back?Nice. We ( Saravanan and me) have a problem.Just check the IP in some of our posts.I don t want Saravanan and his superb posts to be misunderstood because of the IP address is similar to that of mine.Just clarify and sort out.For me it s an honour and for him it is not!
In this issue we share another thing, our lack of technical knowledge as we both, initially, identified IP with Vennira AAdai Nirmala and her Insolvency Petition.
Thanks to IP illa hehe!
