  Sikuwainder singh was given the best male playback singer by : Videocon-screen awards'98 too(for the same song)..
  Possibilities:
  (1) Both selection panels might be influenced by common factors or persons..(panel-la MR, KB, VM etc irunthangala?)
  (2) Committee comprised of playback singers waiting for chances...

  No one other than ARR became more popular like him who they worked with IR. If he is only key board player, he would't be as popular as he is. So, it is very simple to understand that ARR had (and has) the talent which had been tremendousely availed by IR.

  srinath: enna ippadi sollitteenga?? what arr fan says is quite true. ARR indeed composed the music for 1942 a love story. this is pretty well known as well. i met ARR last june, and he told me this. also, he told me that he composed music for aradhana too. he was not happy with the state of affairs. he said that his music for mein naach rahin hoon was copied and resulted in the music for sholay. about IR's works, well, most of the good songs were done either by ARR or by GA.

  Hai all,
  
  After a thorough reading I have come to the following conclusions. I think the df has some standard format:
  
  Standard statements pattern:
  
  (1) A naive new comer (and IR fan):
  I am very much bothered about the way the people are going crazy over the discussions on IR and ARR. I do no think ARR's songs have longevity. He recycles and his tunes are not like IR's. IR had been the greatest and reigns supreme still. ARR does not have any stuff. He is not as creative as IR.
  
  (2) A naive new comer (and ARR fan):
  I am surprised to see people conflicting over this. The very fact that ARR is approved by both hindi and tamil masses, and that his compositions have become popular, means that he is the greatest. Old IR fans may find it hard to digest the situation. IT is understandable, though not favored.
  
  (3) Vanavaasam:
  The DF has become a place for worshipping IR and bashing other mds. MSV had been the best in giving tunes and IR has not been upto his level. I am an unbiased listener and hence say MSV is the best.
  
  (4)thiruoli:
  The orchestrational artistry and the harmonical tapestry ( whatever it means:-))) of IR are inimitable. May I roast in hell...:-))

  I find it difficult to digest the path the thread is taking. Please highlight more on the works and weaknesses in them rather than involving in delirious and deleterious mud - slinging.

  What if ARR and Deva copy ? Iam satisfied with the the work of them and I will surely buy the cds if they are good

  Paarppavar, can you please tell me if you are being right in favoring copies ? I think we- the educated audience - need to make a difference from the lay. We try to appreciate the effort of the MDs and then proceed to discuss. I would rather hear the original versions.
