Which Discussion Forumers have you met from newtfmpage?

Hi musiclovers!!!

newtfmpage has been a nice place for people to share what they know with each other. Many people help you with what you want and become your pals.

But how many of these faces have you seen?

How many have you met in person?

How many have you atleast spoken to over phone?

How many have you chat with on a Messenger?

How many have you atleast mailed?!

Get-togethers happen every now and then. I can see people shaking their heads violently in disagreement, but they do happen! Atleast ONE major get-together has happened to my knowledge.

  well....it finally happened today....one thread that has currently achieved its purpose! :-)
  
  the Chennai meet....though not as many people turned out, still turned out to be an enjoyable one
  
  lemme summarise this stuff....(since Saravanan has to leave this wednesday itself, he may not have time to write about it! ;-)) ... when Saravanan does chip in with his part, we are sure to get into Old Responses, as so many things happened!
  
  Members Present :
  Saravanan,Suresh,Prabhu,LLD,SL,rajasaranam,Raj (capital R Raj i think!) and myself
  
  I called up LLD and Suresh today to confirm if we are really going ahead with our plans and thankfully we did .... too bad that magix and Vel had to miss out
  
  I was a bit late and by the time I reached the place Suresh,Saravanan,SL,LLD and Raj had already reached and were sitting inside....I was waiting outside...thankfully not for that long a time....I spotted Suresh and LLD when they came out looking for more DFers!
  
  We waited outside and had general talks w/ Saravanan making the first statement..."Paarka kuzhandhai maathiri irukkaru C~P"....no nakkals about that coz dats wat everybody says after seeing me....nuthing new actually! :-) ... we continued talking and talking when Prabhu suddenly came in 'Padayappa' style...a small karuppu college bag! ;-)
  
  Raj left early and then we went in to have something.....rajasaranam joined us midway through this.....there was somebody interested in the menu...i dont blame him coz dats the current trend at newtfmpage! :-) ... so here are the details...
  Saravanan had Dosai and Coffee
  Suresh had Bonda and Coffee
  LLD had the same stuff
  Prabhu had Lime juice
  SL had Masala Dosai
  rajasaranam had Bonda and Coffee
  I had Rava Idly
  
  lotsa discussions as the main course ... all these were just for the sake of it! ..... we then went out(still IN woodlands drive in!) and continued the discussions.....i dont remember all the details...all these will be taken care of Saravanan/Prabhu! :-) .... just the outline in this one....
  
  One major thing that everybody agreed upon was that 'perceptions are deceptive'...this after seeing the quiet LLD! :-) .... perhaps Saravanan realised this on seeing me too coz there was always a funny stare which he gave me....i kinda deciphered the stare...twas like "intha poonaiyum paal kudikkuma!" :-)
  
  Lotsa DFers cropped up in the discussion.....OISG,WN,Are Yaar,Ambleen,ROTFL, Cosmician,Paran,Speaker,Dinesh,BeN,senty,Pinchi,Naaz,Subha,curryleaf,Kaumudi,Kupps,NOV,Manisegaran,SPMahendran,Maddy,Theepan,Jay,MIL,Music4Ever,V,Maverick,Mythila,Kanchana,Swetha and ofcourse magix and Vel! :-) ... additions to this list will be done by "You Know Who"! :-)
  
  Cine news too....Suresh had something to say about the stupidity of Kathir and the yuckiness(!) of SJ Surya....he perhaps had E20U18 audio cassette, but i 4got to ask him :-(
  
  SL had lots to comment on....be it the overacting of Sivaji....the torture of getting caught in TMS' web of self-pride...directors/actors messing up of an array of songs due to an array of reasons!....and lotsa unheard of films during which i was a mere spectator! ... all of these done in a funny and laughable manner
  
  Prabhu would often speak in praise of a DFer...all the other things which came out from his mouth were numbers! ... from IPs to telephone numbers, almost everything...he expressedconcern abt a lot of IPs! :-)
  
  Saravanan as expected spoke a lot.....i expected a old, grey haired person wearing spectacles...was taken aback! ... shoes that produced sparks as he walks...Baba style! :-) ... he had lots and lots to say...i was pleased that i could understand more than 30% of what he was talking....a great achievement i feel! .... he spoke mostly about OISG and the music knowledge of his wife! :-) ... and i got a long time doubt of mine clarified - his words kadal pattani! ... i still wonder how one can be so good at Database Management...excellently managed mind! ;-)
  
  rajasaranam had something or the other to say occasionally...so did LLD and myself...LLD and myself were the quietest of the lot; both of us sharing occasional nakkal glances for i know wat he meant and he knows wat i meant! :-) .... he proved to be a otta vaai....made some terrible crimes revealing so many things about himself! (he wud understand this part...not for others to get it!)
  
  so many things in just a short time....lots more actually.....
  
  this is perhaps my biggest message at newtfmpage ..... imagine wat wud have happened if Saravanan were to summarise this?! ... u wud spend the rest of ur life reading his message! :-)......and yeah......during the course of this message i discovered that it is very hard to type Saravanan w/o making a typo....if often tend to add an extra 'an' in the end...looking for a good nick for our official DataBase....somebody help!

  Prabhu,LLD and Saravanan had brought cameras along....so we had taken snaps....i din wanna appear to be a shortie by standing near Prabhu, so i chose to stand near LLD! .... neway(s) those guys will let u know once it is uploaded....or mayb inform xml and request him to post the link! :-)
  
  Saravanan clarified a few doubts there....the man who had the doubts was PBS! ... it seems PBS asked Saravanan if a particular song was actually sung by him(PBS)! :-))

  CP's sufficiently covered most of the stuff and there isnt much left. I'd reached about 1.5 hrs late and was initially surprised to see groups of youngsters all around the place. I decided to look for a gang of over 5 and pretty soon spotted one which included a young lad(C~P) standing next to a guy with an absent-minded scientist look(LLD!). I was expecting Saravanan to be either a sagely Valmiki-like character with a halo, or a robot with flashing green lights and whirring antennae, but he actually turned out to be a 'cool dude' :-)
  
  Raj left us just then, and I could not get exactly which Raj he was, it was leading to too much thalai-suththal! (Lets refer to him as Woodlands Raj hereafter!). The plot thickens, the mystery deepens, as another Raj swoops down on the DF!
  
  We went in and settled round a table, Suresh having the most experience in the DF. We started off talking about Raajangahm, and almost everyone unanimously bemoaned the lack of activity on the site. Agreed, there's hell lot of material on IR and getting everything in order is a formidable task, but being the official page, it shouldn't lie neglected was the opinion expressed. May the powers that be sit up and take notice.
  
  Focus shifted to the DF and Suresh and Saravanan boasted that they were the only ones to stick to one nick. There were laughs all around when even SL admitted doing some trickery with the nick 'Lord London'. Suresh and SL talked about the early days when there was enthusiastic participation, passionate debates and the varied reactions invoked by self-styled fanatics. All this while, LLD was quite silent and suddenly the group became defensive, suspecting he was quietly plotting what to write on this thread, cautious not to become his target! An effort was made to trace out magix, but apparently he's got more attractive pursuits now that he's entered college ;-)
  
  SL then talked of 60s/70s movies, weird picturisations, mannerisms, dialog - deliveries, etc. A fast paced tambola of titbits ensued, with Suresh and Saravanan jumping in. It was meant to be an evening of relaxation with no rigid agenda to constrain us, so there was really no need to dig deep into anything. The wheel spun quickly, TMS's style, Sivaji's mannerisms, Balu Mahendra movies(but no Mani-KB debate!), Shylaja's singing career, Thengai Srinivasan, etc. So, SL and Suresh took quick, tangential shots at topics, and as Saravanan dropped in the singer name/Movie name/Year of release, one could hear an imaginary gong go off, signifying end of topic! :-) Like Tendulkar having a net, he wound up his cameo by listing out 4 movies of some songstress/actress in chronological order!
  
  By this time, Rajasaranam had joined us. He'd initially approached the wrong guy and asked if he was Lord Labakku Das, giving the chap the biggest shock of his life!! :-))
  
  Then we shifted to recent topics, concern expressed at the disappearance of the ARR gang since the constellation thread. Constellate gang!! give us a shout once in a while, not many are aware of the developments in dhwanii and other ventures!
  
  There were few good discussions in recent times, everyone noted that debates on food dominated most of the threads!! Oh, BTW, we'd ordered some items by then, and since all of us were probably suffering from diwali sweets hangover, we took light refreshments. Hope the expert Dieticians like Inji and V (@24.59) dont worry much about the unimpressive list that C~P gave, it is hardly a true reflection of our eating capabilities! :-)
