I feel MSV is most melodious MD, followed by KVM, followed by IR.

IRs Melodies are more technical !!MSV and KVs are simple and sweet....but point to note is that IR also scored many songs in their style ....but they cannot try IRs class !!
MSV and KVMs song u can hear in a easy chair in a relaxed pose with free mind , but IRs songs makes u alert and makes ur brain to 'think' rather than just listen and enjoy!!As this type of thinking is not invoked by other MDs songs people's brain feels more relaxed and songs may sound more melodious to many !!

IR has copied many songs of MSV and KVM but they in turn have not tryed copying IR.

Listening to IR's songs makes one HIGH, like on drugs. That explains the reason for many a thread in this forum. :)

Gowri when did u become a IR Fan? u say that IR music makes everyone to use brain even the blockheads(HCIRFs taking a cue from your wordings). I was thinking that you were of the opinion that IR's music doesn't make one to think and it is just waste. But i should tender my apologizes to you on this regard.

btw "melodious" to me it should be "make one to hear in a easy chair in a relaxed pose with free mind", "make heart of the listener to work more than brain (doesn't necessarily mean that brain shouldn't work at all, but it should be something like 65% heart 35% brain)". So, based on this definition for melody(to me) i feel KVM followed by MSV(TKR) with a narrow gap are most melodious.

I agree with u that in this forum, there are many HCIRF (fanatics), but that's got nothing 2 do with this thread.

coming to MSV & KVM, KVM is a proper carnatic MD, his Carnatic composition is NO match for MSV or IR, KVM's carnatic abilities are simply outstanding, like Shankaraparanam (who can 4get that), Karnan, ThiruvarutChelvar...etc, these are no match 4 IR's "Salanghai Oli", "Sindhu bhairavi(I have a feeling KJY would have helped IR in compostion)".

KVM's melodies always had a carnatic touch to it, but MSV's melodies are "mellisai", very soothing 4 the soul.

Mr Raghuvaran212, - can't u see some contradictions in the above statements made by you?? First of all you say K V Mahadevan's Carnatic compositions are outstanding. Immediately thereafter you say that they are no match for Irs Carnatic songs. Or have I missed something in your post?

Sorry I meant 2 that KVM's Shankaraparanam, Karnan & Thiruvarudchelvar are long way better than IR's Sinthu bhairavi, Salanghai Oli. I also have a feeling that Dr.KJY being a proper Carnatic boffin helped IR composing 4 sinthu bhairavi.

Mgix, those u mentioned are seasonal variation, they will just last 4 couple of seasons, then they would disappear, most of ARR's songs r like this, but MSV,KVM,GR, IR songs live for ever in our hearts.
