AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  Well my feeling on the english lyrics is they actually fit for these songs.It is a film about youngsters and their music as it seems from please sir and the news on the web.So seeing how they are young they would be putting english lyrics, as long as it makes sense I think it works. Unlike Khakha Khakha, where it didnt seem to fit kind of came out of no where.
  
  And I am glad they have that girl yelling tamilurban.com "that sounds like vomit" because then if you do not want that go get the original cd or cassette. The cd will be better quality then your 320 kbps mp3.

  Even i was one of those music fans who was waiting eagerly for the much awaited BOYS! listening to the samples GOD! A Total Disappointment!!! there's nothing new in these songs! same old recycling with the loops and samplers! it's real waste the wait.

  Hey, relax man, enjoy the music and dont pick on others. This is certainly a better than average album by ARR, and should be treated as such until the film releases. It is upto shankar to ensure the songs are picturized well and gel into the movie. Hoping for an 'Ishq Vishk' kind of a movie in Boys.
  
  And note, a sizeable number of ARR-bashers are his own fans, who felt betrayed by the lack of energy in his previous albums.
  
  So calm down and go out and buy the music.

  Boom Boom... is a tune thats instantly likeable and catches your attention. I guess the way the melody of Sadhana is blended with Adnan's fastish singing. No doubt.. it would have been a tough tune to sing.

  Whatever u ppl say about our ARR, BOYZ has proved that ARR is the only undisputed king of music in India..Look at the hype it has generated..look at the number of responses for it..Look at how ppl are so jealous..fearing that their MDs are thrown away to dust..BOYS rulezzzzzzzzz..Songs are awesome..and there is no one stoping our great ARR..He is GOD!!!

  but my only complain is .. one cant make out if its a tamil album...
  :-) .. could have paid more emphasis on lyrics.. they are almost extinct..

  A good album , except for the lift from eminenm's song(sare-ga-ma). The orchestrization reminds of older ARR. The range of the album's success will also depend on the movie's success though. Picks are Break the rules, Dating , Boom boom and secret of success.

  after listening to all the nos. frm boys i can surely say that the movie is gonna be the biggest flop ever indian movies hav witnessed.its never going to reach beyond four metros. I dont know how many ARR fans r going to attempt suicide after the bombing of boys in boxoffice. god help them plsssss let them live to hear the melodies frm pithamagan, sandiyar and kaathal jaathi. plsssss let them live god.

  Ehhh ONE QUESTION
  is the album from rahman or soem english guy from us! Oh god every tune is lifted from any english songs! I cant find the touch of rahman in these songs. It will be a big flop in my opinion because if i want to listen to music like this i can buy some english albums
