  We are really interested in her songs in malayalam with PJ. Can U write the songs with movie name , MD and lyricts. If possible explain the situation and quality of the song...
  "seehdevi swayamvaram Cheithoru " is from mal. film "vazhve maayam".. what about the other songs ?

  The pearls by PS,i want to name the songs she sung with Sree p jayachandran.
  
  The song "manivarnanillatha poonkavanam madhumasamunaratha vrundavanam",its shringara bhava by the god and godess of music!ha!what a beautiful!
  Another song is"Thirunellikkattilo thiruvathira jattuvela",extremely good.
  I personally feel guilty being from a place where the best singer is not awarded for the state award.I am making the statement a crore times,there is nobody to match PS in voice,clarity,bhava,melody or majesty.She is invincible.

  She was awarded twice by kerala govt. i think in 1971,1975 (chuvanna sandhyakal).

  I remember she was awarded for a song from the film "Nellu" in Malayalam. Salil Choudary was th MD, I think.

  salil choudry is the MD for "Nellu" and there are two songs for PS. one is "kaadu kulirinu" and the other is "chemba chemba" with Mannadey. I dont know about the award .. pl. clarify
  "kaadu kulirinu" song was posted in PS yahoogruops.."

  Subbu,i was invited for a programme by VIJAY TV.Do you know 'Apoorva ragangal'?The programme was good,but was shocked to see an aspect.The name of Sri PJ was written as 'JEYACHANTHIRAN' instead of 'JAYACHANDRAN'.I brought it to the notice of the admin.The reply was 'Saar in our language there is no other way to represent his name'.What do you think about it?

  *******CHARACTERISTICE OF THE BEST SINGER IN INDIA*********
  1.MELODY:Jayachandran is melody,i am ashamed of stating about such a great person that "JAYACHANDRAN IS
  HAVING MELODY ALSO".But yesudas now and then had it.
  2.RANGE:Jayachandran's 90% songs had this characteristic.Let me point out some songs which have some less range
  Ninpadangalil
  Nunakkuzhikavilil
  Bhoolokarambhayute
  Yesudas's songs have range but equally there are songs which don't have range.It is like 2 faces of a coin
  3.SPEED:There is no speed in yesudas's songs.Noone can show a speedy song sung by him.He tried to sing sometimes
  like
  pavataprayathil
  which have not succeeded since it resembles a conversation.
  Jayachandran is superb in speed.
  Take for eg the song
  pa pa pa pa pa nisa manohari
  ma ma ma ma ma vikaramanjari devasundari
  To pronounce it properly and sing it speedily yesudas is not at all perfect.Jayachandran was fully perfect.
  4.VIBRATIONS:Vibrations are made by both singers.Both are equally good in it.Jayachandran's
  vibrations in prayam nammil was beautiful.
  5.DEPTH:Jayachandran has much depth than yesudas.In depth yesudas is nil in front of jayachandran.Even in a simple
  padam like karivarivandukal kurunirakal in DEVARAGAM take the part "kaikalo-o-o-
  jalapushpavalayangalo-o-o-o-o"
  He has the depth there.In all songs this is coming into picture.As Ajith show above,yesudas was unable to maintain raaga
  
  
  
  at high pitches is About this aspect.
  6.SOFTNESS:Even now when he is not getting chances as yesudas he maintains the softness like the song
  Ariyathe ariyathe-e in RAVANAPRABHU.But Jayachandran is not the master of this it is Hariharan.But Yesudas is
  nothing in this,he is always noty soft.But some songs like Kattile pazhmulam thandil ghe approached it.Jayachandran and
  
  
  
  Hariharan are 2 good in it.
  7.VERSATILITY:Altogether more versatile is Jayachandran but due to luck yesudas was more famous.It does not mean
  that jayachandran is less versatile.He was not recognised as he should be.
  If Jayachandran was given more chances he would have shown up the world.But when politics or other pressure comes
  against a singer what the most versatile singer can do?
  That is why i consider him as most versatile.If he should have remained there in bollywood,he would have been famous
  like his students.
  Jayachandran is the most talented singer ever India had seen.
  
  
  
  
  
  Sri P JAYACHANDRAN is undoubtedly the 'best singer' India has ever produced.
  
  he has proven his potentiality in all the major characteristics needed for a vocal singer.
  
  1. melody
  2. range
  3. speed
  4. vibrations & oscillations
  5. depth
  6. softness
  7 versatality (ability to shine in film music, classical, devotional, semi -classical light music, festive music etc..)
  
  no other singer in India has proven his ability in such diversified kinds of vocal singing!
  
  and nobody can match him in vocal characteristics mentioned above. Other singers may have the first 3 but not the other
  ones. Some other singers may have the last 3 but not the initial ones. There has not been a single singer in INdia that has
  proven in all the above mentioned vocal characteristics !!

  Subbu- don't you get Cinema Express in Bangalore? Are tamizh magazines also banned?:(
  
  I haven't read Mr.Vamanan's write-up. But I have chatted with him on so many issues. So I have an idea of what he might have written. It could have pertained to a recording of V Kumar's when IR was the guitarist. There was some problem, IR's notes and PS's singing were not synchronising. Take after take this happened. PS complained that it was IR's fault. IR replied that it was she who was making the mistake. PS was very upset. Finally V Kumar sent IR out and continued the recording.
  (Of course, I don't know how true this is. Kalai, is this what is mentioned in the artcle?)

  CE is available only in railway station, Saravanan. Earlier we used to get it from Jayanagar 4th block too.
  
  BTW, which film had this misunderstanding issue between IR and PS.. may be due to that IR had done his "return" duty to PS when he started ruling of TFM...? Anyway, am too small to comment on this... I was just curious to know the details :-)

  kumud,I concur totally with you. PJ is not a poor joke as music lovers with discerning tastes would note. His versatility in positioning himself beautifully in front of the mike before singing a classical, jocular, love duet number is unparalleled basically because vibrates and oscillates a lot while singing those numbers. But I have one confession to make, I working hard at improving my musical taste, it is not too good at the moment.
