Only the boarding hostel scene is in Singapore. The rest are in Malaysia and M'sian police have been used (or replica) in the movie, which they claim to be Singaore Police. Singapore police would never agree to do such a scene - A tamil police lets Dhanush escape. Only if some Tamil Govt Official sees this it would be in for another ban!

Tamizh cinema-la flaws-ka kuraichal?!
This one is silly to point out (has nothing to do with the sory I mean!) but this is what I observed recently...
In Thirumalai, there is this comedy piece in which Vivek wants to attend an interview but ends up going to Tirupathi. That one scene in itself has two flaws!
1) Vivek shows his hand towards the left and sez "right-la poda". Vijay asks "ennada right-la kai kaamchu left-la poga sollara" or someting like that!
2) Vivek argues with a policeman when the policeman warns him "interview ozhunga poi saera maatta". However he knew abt the interview!
This is what I saw. I may be wrong but atleast one of them is correct for sure! :-D
I have a doubt btw. I happened to watch Engal Anna yesterday (yuck! :-( ) and I have this stupid doubt. Did Vijaykant have an elder brother or a younger brother? I was shocked when Vijaykant called the other guy "Anna"!

I hate the cast too. But I heard it is a good comedy film. It turned out to be horrible though. Vijaykanth, however, did not disappoint! ;-)

thiru...don't worry they need 3 months to teach Bush tamizh..so he can argue with VK and that conversation alone can take up to 20 minutes!..

Yes Bush needs only 3 months to learn Tamil but if VK wants to learn English it would take a lifetime.
i don't know if you guys noticed how he pronounced "Zoom" as jhum - don't remember the movie, may be vallarasu, oh that was funny!

I am embarrased to show people Sun TV here because of Vijaykanth, Danush etc. I wish they would warn us atleast 5 minutes in advance before showing vijaykanth. Sun TV people lack "Indelligence".
I wonder how Mr Vijaykanth grades himself. I also wonder how he has a fan following. I would rather see Senthil as a hero.
Back to flaws, what about Uyire? I still wonder whether they (terrorists) managed the assasination at the Republic Day parade towards the end. I can never get myself to watch the climax where an educated, foolish, 'patriotic' citizen talks about love and discusses terrorism when he very well knows that she was not the only one in the plan and life of the primeminister was at stake. Was Mani asleep when the shot the scenes?

Criticizing Vijaykanth's English does not mean that his thamizh is fine :) :) He is a classic example of a person with all deficiencies achieving success - kinda like India's answer to Helen Keller :-)

(^!^),
VijayaKanth = never say die. He cant speak tamil/english properly, still he speaks most (or all) of the dialogues in his movies and others "main characters" will appear in 1 or 2 scenes and hardly speak a dialogue (probably bala got inspiration for Pithamagan from VK's movies). The great thing about VK, he can turn any movie to an all-time favorite comedy.

Why no one is talking about vijayakanth's romance?
Have you people seen the movie "koil kaalai" ?
If no atleast try to watch the song
"manamadurayile" in which VK shows full romance towards kanaka. So romantic it is...Better than the titanic romantic scene

VK is not a good omen for heroines, You will remember the fate pratuyksha met with afer dancing with South indian Tom cruise in Panchakam pakkathey mama mama :)
a oscar winning romantic bit can also be found in Thavasi duet song with soundarya thanthana thai masam where you must watch his expressions in the lines Aathadi athadi! Shake of his puffed cheeks and moving pupils to the corner of his eyes - something Tom hanks and Kamal hassan must take note of!

paran,
I remember "we will meet ... will meet ... meet". I think the movie is Vanchinathan. I saw it with my cousins in the theatre and we had a great laugh (infact the other thai kulam were serious when VK was doing some routine sentiment scene). Its a full length comedy. I am getting good reviews about Narasimma. Seems like its better than Vanchinathan. I missed it. Need to watch it this weekend.

I didn't completly watch Narasimha but there's a scene where a fortune teller tells Isha gopikar that "Oru azhakan Vanathulenthu kuthichu ungala theedi varuvar, Vijayakanth who happens to chase a terrorist jumps from a flyover or somewhere and lands just in front of Isha.
Are we supposed to infer that VK is a azhakan or it was an accident that an eruma madu landed in front of her ;)
Narasima is a classic ;)

Hmm... Anyone watched Thennavan? I saw a lil bit of it, and Kiran was going gaga over him... why would anyone go coookoo over kaanda mirugam??
I've noticed this... In Engal Annan, Thennavan, Chokkathangam, atleast one of the songs in each movie sings about "Nila"...
