  Ilyaraja is very good coz he is original. ARR n YSR jus copy songs from da west and elseweh.dey are a disgrace to india. very soon these 2 guyz will be sued for copyright violation for every paise they got and they don't got. i like ilyaraja songs tho i don't like da singers except Sadhana and Shreya(sweetie). ummmmmwah!

  Well,it's depends on the time itself.Rahman bombed the Tamil Film Music with his blockbuster ROJA on 1992.Iliyaraja did his golden achievement in 80's and I guess the upcoming Music Director who will lead the entire Tamil Film Music is Harris Jayaraj.Expectation from him are on high even we all knew his music has been inspired by Rahman's touch.

  Today: AR Rahman

  Guys Know one thing,
  Inspiration is not the word for tommorow. Anything that comes tommorrow must be a trend setter and something new for the people.M S V was doing it in the past with his classical scores.
  Ilayaraja changed the trend by introducing vast amount of folk into the music.A R Rahman revolutionised music by introducing sound into it and a vast amount of western notes. The present trend is what Rahman has set and all ysr, hj, vidyasagar etc come under this category. Any one who is the md for tomorrow is the person who can differentiate himself from the three trend setters.But the fact is "This is the age of A R RAHMAN"

  Exactly Tipu,Rahman has introduce the genre of Western into tamil and it's usable for other MD's.
  
  I'm eagerly waiting for another storm from any new MD who gives a fresh tune.
  
  Commercially,Harris Jayaraj doing very well especially his Vetri songs.He got the ARR standard recognition among listeners.

  A R Rahman and Ilayaraaja created a RIPPLE EFFECT when they arrived-Yuvan did not
  
  When Maestro Ilayaraaja came into the industry, with Bharadiraaja's, Annakilli, it created unrest in the Tamil Film world and the film and its music went to to become big hits and Ilayaraaja had arrived. Quite soon he was popular among the Indian Filmdom. His market was nearly down in 1990, when A R Rahman came. By then Rahman's ad jingles were already popular in the households, but Roja created the stirr. (The Leo Coffee (Arvind Swamy) ad directed by Rajeev Menon, had A R Rahman's music).
  
  The entire country noticed A R Rahman through Roja. It was path breaking and broke all language barriers. The film, Roja was dubbed in 5 languages, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam. Today A R Rahman is internationally known and is popular and he also venturing into Hollywood films.
  
  But not many know which is Yuvan Shankar Raja's first film. His music is popular only among the Tamilians and at the most a few South Indians. Yuvan did not create any ripples like his father or Rahman.
  
  So, you can never say,
  
  Yesterday: Ilayaraaja, Today: A R Rahman, Tomorrow: Yuvan Shankar Raaja
  
  The correct statement would be:
  Yesterday: Ilayaraaja, Today: A R Rahman, Tomorrow: God decides
  
  Yuvan in this birth cannot achieve what his father or what A R Rahman have achieved. He would be doing only Tamil, Telugu or Kannada films. Karthik Raja atleast did 2 Hindi films, doubt if Yuvan will make it to Bollywood also. He can concentrate on Tamil films, he will do well only in Tamil.

  All okay, but Bharathiraaja had nothing to do with Annakkili. Bharathiraja's debut was in 1977 with 16 Vayathinile.
