Hey guys/gals
The latest additon to TFM, Mani sharma's Narasimha has just been released.! Would any of u like to share u'r thoughts on the afore mentioned?
My first thoughts on the album as overall isn't pleasing at all. Manisharma allegedly have a reputation for having close resemblence to that of IRs style. But from what's offered on the album, there's nothing similar except for one song (Kadhal Araro!!.. quite catchy one too.. although sounds much like one of those 90's hindi songs). Apart from that one song.. the rest are...Mmmm not worth mentioning!!!
cheers..!

kAdhal ArArO sounds very much like an IR song (meaning i will be listening to this song for years to come) except for the female voice (sAdhana sargam?). lAlA nandhalA is another good song in the album. innoru dhEsiya gIdham started with an awful pronunciation (not an accent problem) and hence i didn't listen to the song fully. egipthu rANi is not bad but sounds like a contrived dance sequence (stereotyped interlude music and not very interesting charaNam tunes either - tho the pallavi is good). mandela mandela is not to my taste and probably the worst song in the album.

Kadal Araro the starting keyboard seems to be similar to Fleetwood mac's .... I forgot the title. The starting of the song is like R.D.Burmans. Use of instruments and continues hummings seems to be like IR at some places, but IR really has a touch of his own. In the charanam, it could be really nice, if there is no drums. The song is really good in Charanam. There could have been one excellent Violin chorus if its IR or KR and it could have been an Veenai or Piano if its YSR and Systhesized violins if its ARR. I really think that part wasn't fixed properly.

guys,
he is , I think, very good and has been giving many hits in teFM. with ARR approaching music totally unlike IR and with KR and YSR not being his worthy successors, mani sharma I think has got a lot of chance to take over the reins ...
his output is very high and the quality of the songs is also pretty decent ... so,
watchout!!!!

.... I strongly believe Mani Sharma needs some good projects like he has in TeluguFM.

I personally like some of his works in telugu films. But nowadays he is repeating his work. Also his music is noisy these days. In order for him to shine in tamil, narasimha is not at all enough. I heard narasimha and they are reworked tunes of his telugu music.
I WISH HIM ALL THE BEST

I heard the songs. They are very different from the present clout in Tamil. It is a welcome change and I hope ManiSharma does only 3-4 albums a year so that we have all the variety in Tamil. My best

This guy is good. I liked all the songs. Currently all MDs in tamil are emulating ARR. ManiSharma is the new wave. Best wishes for the film and all the success.

Manisharma's music changed brought a new resurgence in Telugufm. With Ilaiyaraaja out of the scene and ARR making harakiri of the chances he got, spawned a pool of talented Composers.Sri, Mahesh, Manisharma, RP Patnaik and Ghantadi Krishna. Let us hope brings back those old days of melody and rhythm in Tamil Fm.

Manisharma has done a fairly good job in Narasimha. Though the beat and tune of "kadal Araro" reminds one of the Bharathirajas movies with IRs composition "Mudhal mudalaaga Kaadal duet" sung by SJ and SPB, it is ok. He is a successful blend of IR and ARR. He is sure to step up to success. He cannot be judged by one Narasimha. He has to get more movies as in Telugu where he is proving.

Laala Nada Lala is also a nice song from Narisimha. Though this song has a slight resemblence to Nenjinele Nenjinele...(Uyire), it's a nice effort. This song is in the Top 2nd in Sun Tv's Top Ten songs.

Great music. Every body is trying to be ARR. The songs are not all Melody only. There are funky, and different. I think this is exactly what is needed in Tamil FM right now.

I AM VERY SORRY TO SAY THAT HE TOO IS AN COPY CAT.I HEARD TELUGU COMPOSITIONS OF HIM, AND MANY ARE STRAIGHT LIFTS & MIXES OF TAMIL & ENGLISH SONGS.
SUCH MUSIC DIRECTORS SHOULD NOT BE ENCOURAGED.
IT IS PITY TO NOTE THAT EVEN IN HIS DEPUT MOVIES HE IS NOT ABLE TO COMPOSE THE TUNE OUT OF CREATIVITY.
DEAR MUSIC LOVERS, DONT ENCOURAGE MUSIC DIRECTORS WHO COPY SHAMELESSLY AND TAKE ALL APPRECIATIONS FROM THE MASSES.

I fully agree to above views.
But now most of the MDs are copy cats who piagarse tunes from english albums shamelessy.
In this regard, I really admire MD Illayaraja, who, in his 750+ films spanning 20 years has given around 4000 tunes and is still going strong with fresh compositions which are not repetitive.

Subbu,
I just Kushi in telugu recently.
Few songs were lifted from 'Oru Ponnu onna nan parthen' - Tamil, 'Varayin vennilave, kelayo enthan kathayai...' - Tamil, 'Thank u for the baby - English' etc & almost the entire BGM from the tamil movie Kushi.
Now it doest not matter how many songs he copied , but his intention to such acts.
Pl. dont support plagiarism.
Encourage Original Music Directors with strong music stuff.
Vkay. (Vishi is my friend.)

The music for Telugu version of Kushi were totally different from the Tamil. Even the director wanted to use some songs from the tamil version but Pawan Kalyan said no.

The word 'copy' needs to be defined properly. There is another discusion on the same topic elsewhere on this site. if somebody copies every element of a song (like Deva and Sirpi do and some extent SARAJKUMAR) that is plagiarism. The great IR was 'inspired' by Western Classical tunes - I DO NOT agree IR has copied. The same applies to ARR. ManiSharma has some inspired tunes and I do not agree to brand him as copied. Infact, in telugu industry he has given a nw lease of life. I expect he gives siginificant contribution and sets a new trend.
I do not agree with plagiarism. It is illegal. but I do not mind inspired tunes. If you want to shun even inspired tunes, you might want listen only to old hindi and tamil songs of MSV (there are doubts about them too). the debate is irrelevant at a macro scale.

Manisharma definetely one of better( not the best ) in the current lot of telugu MD's, gave lot of hits. When I hear I dont feel appealing in the first instance. I need to hear him couple of times. I feel Ramana Gogula is better than him but this guy doesnt get much time as he is CEO of a software company in Bangalore.
Also one more problem is that he uses the trio HH,Shankar, Udit a lot who literally kill the telugu words. He uses Udit for Chiranjivi. Its like insulting chiranjivi. ( Same as like Udit for Rajini ).
Regarding recycling of old tune in Khushi I think he is asked to use them. Because in the movie Khushi, it was Pawan Kalyan behind the recylced old song. The title shows Pawans name for idea behind three songs One this song, One hindi song and I dont remember the other song.
