There is one more PS-SPB combination in another kamal movie. I forgot the movie name. The same movie has one more popular song "Koo Koo Enru Kuyil Koovatho" by SJ.

Yes. Kathal Parisu. No duet in that?! That may be some other movie. But Kamal and Ambika (or Radha). Actually this confusion had led to conclusion on Kaathal Parisu.

Today morning I was watching a song from Natpu.
"Aasa vechean ummela - machan
Arali vechean kollaiyile". It is a solo pathos.

There was a song "Kalyana kovilil deiveega kalasam.. Kangalil theirudhu...".. I guess it was PS for Jayachitra and SPB for Kamal. Very nice song.

" Azhagam kodi sirithu", Kalyana Koyilil" and "amma mel Aanayitten" are the songs from satyam. "Amma mel Anayitten" is a SPB+PS combo.

what may be the SPB,PS duets count in tamil? may be around 200 ? but most of them are excellent numbers!! Is'nt it?

hey kalai... 200 is very low... it should min 500. they have been singing together since 1970 in tamil.

Any1 heard the song "Neeraazhi mandabathil thendral neendhi varum nalliravil"... from thalaivan movie.. recently Jaya TV showed that song (vanishree and MGR). It was SPB + PS, where I could not easily recognize SPB.. (it was very young voice).

I want the movie name of this song : "Manikka padumaikku kaanikkai-yaana pin manadhai tharalamaa, naan madiyil varalaama.. Kaanikkai yaana pin aani pon oonjalil...". Vennira adai nirmala and Jaishankar acted... but no idea of film.. any guess?

1."Manikka padumaikku" is definitely not from Kulama Gunama. I know all the songs from the movie. And I saw the song sequence in TV, which starred by V.Nirmala and Jai. Nirmala did not act in Kulama Gunama. Vanishree paired with Jai.

2. Yeah, I agree "masi masam muhurtha neram" is from "pennin vazhkai". It was by Sudhakar & Rati Agnihotri (if am correct).

>>what may be the SPB,PS duets count in tamil? may be around 200 ? << NO NO NO Way, SPB till now has more than 40,000 songs to his credit, out of that 1,000 songs are Hindi Duets/pathos/solos,..etc, that leaves 39,000, out of that SPB has sung about 20,000 songs in Tamil,out of that he has sung about 5,000 songs with Janaki amma & 4,000 songs with Susheela amma, SPB sir has sung more duets with PS than TMS, that in cludes Telegu/karanatka/Tamil/malayalam.

Hi kalai, raghu,

i get a major doubt... on SPB's record says he has sung 40,000 songs.

He has been singing for the past 30 years (30x365 = 10950 days). Make it round to 12,000 days. So, if his total songs are 40,000, then he must have recorded on an average of 3 songs per day. Which is quite IMPOSSIBLE. SPB has been acting in movies for the past 10 years, compering programmes etc. If he had spent time on that, HOW 40,000 is possible?

Not only SPB, it is believed that PS also sung 30 - 40,000 songs. In her case, she has completed 50 years in TFM. 50x365 = 18250 days. Round it to 20,000 days. How PS could have recorded on an average of 2 songs per day? This is also not at all possible.

Why these high claims by even renowned artists... am at a loss!!!!

It is very possible, when you become an expert in singing, it only takes you couple minutes to grasp the tune & record a song, Latha when visiting Clinton back in 97, said SPB had sung about 40,000 songs, SPB & Gangai amaran have also stated these in interviews, SPB's offical website(www.spbindia.com) Claims SPB has sung over 36,000 songs

Hi,

The film directed by Sridhar. Acted by Sivachandran+Sripriya, and one more pair.

Both the pairs will sing the song "Iravil irandu paravaigal" It was actually SPB+VJ for Siva+Sripriya and PS+Jolly Abraham for another pair.

My questions:
1. Who was the other pair
2. Film name? (it was shot abroad)
3. MD (Vijaya Bhaskar, I guess)

Saundaryame Varuga Varuga was the movie.

The other actor was either Rajkumar (Lathas brother of Kashmir kathali fame!) or Prakash (who acted in Azhage unnai aaradhikkern) a malayalam actor.Do nt remeber the heroine.But the movie was stupid anyway!

The VJ song was "Idho unKadhali"

I got thbe heroine name.. it is none other than Rathi agnihotri !!!! with Prakash.

In that song, the line with mogam, amogam, ammogma vinodham (this line sung by PS) was really enchanting..

Yesterday there was a film "enna thavam seiden". Vijayakumar and Sujatha.. There is a song "edho oru nadhiyil naan iranguvadhai pole..." sung by SPB + PS.. PS kural summa sangeetha samrajyam paNNudhu. Class song, but the picturisationwas very average.

One PS solo was there in that film... can anyone guess that starting line (krishnan mun nindru Sujatha paduvargal)

There are two SPB+PS combo un the movie "Malathy" . "Karpanayo kai vanthato" -which is already mentioned. Other one is " Enge povom, Enge Povom".
