I know this doesn't concern TFM theme. But when we mourn for Soundarya and all, I think we can take a moment to pray for this young kids who were burnt while still being a bud. My heart goes out for them. Pl. forgive me if it is inappropriate, but couldn't help it. May their souls rest in peace!

It is very sad news that these small, precious and beautiful lives have been lost. We pray God give enough courage to the parents and siblings to take this loss. Somebody from School should take the responsibility and make sure that these things will not happen in the future.
May their souls rest in peace.

I hope the God gives the affected families strength to accept this overwhelming grief.
It was a harrowing experience to watch those innocent kids charred to death.

It is a very sad news. Government should impose strict safety codes before issuing a license for private schools. They didn't have an have fire extinguisher and water sprinkler to save those innocent lives.

AND, HERE IS A REQUEST!
iI FEEL THAT WE TFM'ERS MUST DO SOMETHING!
CAN 'BB' INDICATE IF HE IS WILLING TO TAKE SOME DONATIONS FROM US THRU HIS 'PAYPAL' AND FORWARD IT TO THE VICTIMS' FAMILIES DIRECTLY AND EQUALLY?
WE CAN SET A DEADLINE FOR DONATIONS AND WHATEVER IS COLLECTED, MAY BE SENT TO THE FAMILIES. I CAN UNDERTAKE TO GET THE SDRESSES OF THE FAMILIES, IF NEEDED.
OR, SOME TFM'ER FROM KUMBAKONAM/CHENNAI[C~P, FERRARI MAYBE?] CAN UNDERTAKE THIS TASK OF DISTRIBUTION.
THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW THAT WE ARE NOT JUST 'FUN-SURFERS' BUT CAN AND WILL DO SOMETHING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS TOO!
WHAT DO ALL SAY?

It's depressing to read the news and see the pictures...heart-breaking...I feel really sad for the children and parents...any amount of consoling words cannot heal their miseries...May God give them the strength to cope up with this tragedy...

most of public places like cinehall, marriagehall, schools none of these places have decent fire extingh. or no fire exit plans, its time for citizens, private orgn to do something about this enforce strict rules by making these things mandatory
that will be true service we will doing to these souls

Photos ii paarthathum azhudhu vittean. In our culture, SAFETY always gets the least preference everywhere.
Some where read that, the teachers ordered the kids to remain in the classes since they thought that the fire can be contained. Evvalu schools la FIRE DRILL programme irukku?
Indha Oalao Koorai, keethu koorai yeallam at least schools la irundhavadhu remove pannidanum.
Anyway, Sila samayam Kadavul ennadhaan pannaraar nnu sandhegam varudhu?

chumma and others
this is the second horrible fire accident in TN
what have govt and other org have done to bring in fire safety measures tell me NONE
nobody cares all this attention for few days some incompetent officers, principal jailed and back to normal until this happens again.
Every public halls, schools should have emergency exit, fire extinguishers, fire drill should be performed compulsory
How many cinema halls in chennai and other cities have these procedures
Being emotional and blaming GOD doesnt bring in solution immediate action is what we need now not crying ,blame game and politics.
Lets see how this goes and important thing is 'Makkalukku Thee adhan apathu patriya vizhipunarvu vendum' people need to be educated about these things. atleast from now onwards

Politicians think that paying compensation alone would bring back the dead kids. The money they made in politics if they invest in betterment of schools and other public access would make India safer. They make a visit as a common courtesy and in another few months it will be forgotten until the next tragedy strikes. I am not trageting just one politician. In India corruption in politics is an epidemic. If the education officers would have been clean those 100 lives never would have been lost.

YOUNG people alone can bring about the much needed 'awareness'. They should play an important role and make these politicians, officials and their 'adiyaals' realize what are their parts in a society. Will it ever happen?
A full scale state-wide 'PEACEFUL' agitation in front of all such insecure schools with indefinite fasting until the management changes according to the rules is one solution.
Will they?

It is really a heart crushing accident. This fire accident not only destroyed a group of kids but it also destroyed the dreams of many parents which cannot be compensated by any thing in the world.Even though it is really hard to over come this sorrow, God has to give enough support and strength to the affected families.May their soul rest in peace.

It is shocking and sad reading this news. It is a terrible tragedy.
It is high time Government imposed strict regulations on "Fire Exits", "Fire Training" and "Fire watch" expecially on Schools, Colleges, Apartments and tall office buildings.

Extreme Tragedy. I feel so much pain. Did you all read, none of the teachers or older people died, but only the children. Were they all Abandoned.
Who is going to bell the cat. When will they stop such schools being run in the cottages. How long will the govenments in India exploit the innocence of the people.

"No teachers died, and a senior fire officer said it was because they abandoned the children and ran from the burning school. But the district government administrator said it was too early to know, noting that about 700 children got out alive _ probably helped by teachers." Teacher is the one who asked the kids not to leave the premesis. Whoever asked kids not to leave escaped.
