  Uh, geeth, what I am meaning by 'hit' is a song that really turns you on when you listen to it, and you would want to listen to many times. It's really subjective.

  purv, yours is great help. i normally have collections yearwise, but lost out greatly in the time period between 92 to 2000. i agree with you on the term hits. i like many songs which are not popular with public. it has to touch my soul as you said, thats all. i need a little more help from you. please list the movies under a year title.   Can anyone pls shed more light on songs in OOOR? I was watching this movie and knowing this to be a mid 90s Bhakyaraj starrer, was surprised that the songs were actually nice and melodious(Didnt think IR would have scored for Bhagyaraj in his latter days, as story would be light-hearted). Just then my friend told me MD was IR.
  I can remember only one song "VArAyo thOli VArAyO" or some mangalakaramAna song.
