I would like to know the ragam of the song "indraikku Enindha Aanandame" from the movie "vaidehi kaathirundhaa;". thanks

  "kalaiye en vaazhkaiyin" (from "Meenda Sorgam") is in the ragam "Bagesri".
  
  other songs in Bagesri are "Nilave ennidam nerungadhae" (from "ramu"), "mayakkum maalai pozhudhae ni po po" (from "kule-bagavali"), "ponnezhil poothadhu pudhu vaanil" (from "kalangarai vilakkam"), "malarukku thendral pagaiyaanal" (from "enga veettu pillai").

  In the film "Ponnumani" the song "Nenjukkile innarunu sonnal puriyuma" is an excellent song. I would like to know on what ragam the song is based on. The song is a soul stirrer. It is sung by SPB and S.Janaki.

  Nenjukkulle is based on Mayamalava gowla (one of Ilaiyaraja's
  favourite scales)
  
  Another Abogi based song:
  kaalai nera poonguyil - Amman koyil kizhakkaale
  
  Abogi's scale is S R2 G2 M1 D2 . If you add N2, it becomes
  Sriranjani. The hindustani counterpart of Sriranjani is bagesri.
  Some people find it difficult to distinguish between Abogi and
  Sriranjani. But bageshri is quite distinct because of the way it
  is sung. "Nee ennenna sonnaalum kavidhai" is a beautiful
  Bageshri based song.

  what about the song "naanandri yaar varuvaar" from the movie "maalai-yitta mangai" (T.R.mahalingam's). I think it is sriranjani. it looks pretty much like thyagaraja's "Brochevaa-revare ragupathe". Am i correct?

  Just a clarification. As Mr. Rajaraman points out the song 'Nenjukullae inarunnu' in Ponumani is tuned by IR in one of his favourite raga's.
  However, the raga is Keeravani and not Mayamalavagowlai.
  
  If you liked 'Nenjukullae'(Mr/Ms. cp@ host-207-53-1-99.atl.bellsouth.net) a very similar song in Keeravani by IR in a fairly recent Bhagyaraj movie (Rajakumari) is
  ' Azhagu nila kaayum aagayathin melay
  Amaithiyana neram oorungam vellai..'
  It is a thaalatu paatu and is great. Enjoy

  Isn't the line "...sonnaal puriyuma" correspond to G3 M1 G3 R1 S ?
  
  Coming to charanam, I see

  This line is enough to conclude the Mayamalava gowla scale.
  
  The difference between keeravaani and MMgowla lies in
  rishabam and ghandhaaram. (R2 G2 for the former and R1 G3
  for the latter.) Isn't this difference discernible from the very
  conspicuous jump from E to C# in the line "... puriyumaa"?
