"NANDHAA" songs

The much awaited "NANDHAA" film songs (Music : Yuvan Shankar Raja, Direction : Bala) are being released today (21-10-2001). Kamal Hasan is releasing the first audio cassette and Bharathiraja is receiving it, at Hotel Connemara, Chennai.

The songs are totally fresh & different, and not the usual Yuvan's latino-type music. This album can easily be compared to some of the best of Ilayaraja when he was at his best.

Hear the songs and enjoy.

  S.Janaki, Harini, Sandhya, VaniJayaram...

  By going through all the postings, I feel someone (with different names 'thath...') is playing games here. First IR hasn't sung two songs in the movie just one. So whoever doing this may unable to see that this is really cheap. Lets wait for some site to host the songs genuinely.

  I'm through my first hearing as I drive down to Bangalore. My initial impression is that it is a very mature attempt for someone so young and raw as YSR. It's very IRish in its orchestration, creates a sombre and dark mood for the film. I think this must also be the album with the best collective quality of lyrics in TFM in a long time, with Thamarai's lines outstanding.
  
  For sure, the likes of S Janaki, Vani Jairam, Harini, who've been featured as having sung for "Nandhaa" are not seen in the final product. Whether these tracks are kept in abeyance for
  a later release, or they have been used as merely "tracks" is a real suspense. Must add that we've had an opportunity to savour SPB and IT at their vocal best.
  
  I can't see it creating waves of the sort of "Male Male, Maruthamale" or a "Manjakkattu Maina", but IMO this marks the beginning of a new phase in YSRs career. I would even daresay that by nature of the sheer versatility and range he's exhibiting from album to album, he ranks right next to ARR in the contemporary generation of MDs.

  Are you by any chance one(Venky Narayanan) of the producer(s) who have produced this movie?..If so, It would be nice if you can share some more inside tidbits about this whole music production(songs, and BGM) for the film...Because there was so much Kisu Kisu going on about whose is going to do the Background music for the film..

  Simply awesome stuff.....first impression....Like anyother other raaja movie can feel the climate set for the movie.

  to test the vocal chords of all his singers,
