Have you ever wonndered why there are so many one-timers in TFM? I have. :-))

It's amazing why some of the good ones are not sought after. I hope to discuss some of these splendid one-timers, both old and new, and maybe examine why they were neglected.

  The song from Aathi Parasakthi I was refering to is Kokku koovum antha... , while the other Deivam song is Marutha malai maamaniyey Murugaiya.

  s varalakshmi is a few times wonder and bangalore ramani in kundrathile kumaranukku kondattam in deivam.
  
  i recall one delhi prakash who sang a song "ponunna ponnu" with sjanaki in ilayaraja's movie.(that was censored by DD and AIR for not so decent lyrics@@@@!!###$%%) he is a regular singer in light music circles in chennai.
  
  I have not heard Sirgazhi Sivachidambaram after his abinaya sundari aadugiral in mridanga chakravarthy.
  
  frankly i think there are very few one time wonders but there are many who are a few time wonders.
  
  vasantha i think hummed for the song "veenai athu pesum" of KJJ (muthuraman/lakshmi movie) i don't recall the name of the movie

  Raghavan,
  LP have also scored the music for other films like Uyire Unakkaaga, Mangai Oru Gangai , etc.
  
  By the way, R. D. Burman has scored the music for Iniya Uravu Poothadhu, Anbu Thambi, etc., while Bappi Lahiri has scored for Paadum Vaanambadi, Apoorva Sagodharigal , etc.

  IR scored the great music for the movie "Iniya Uravu Poothathu" directed by Sridhar. You probably are referring to the movie starred Vijaykanth & Nadhiya and the name is ( I think ) "Poomazhai Pozhinthathu"

  How about music director Sivaji Raja who did great music for the Mohan-Radha movie: "Kattrukkenna veli"? I don't think he did another Tamil movie. Did the singer Dinesh who sang "Kallaithendralil ethanai santhangal" from LP's "Mangai oru Gangai" ever sing another Tamil song?

  The songs like "Maangattu mayile nil nil nil" sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy

  Rajaraman, thanks for setting me straight about Sivaji Raja. Can you or anybody else list the other four movies he has done. I'm very curious. Given a chance he would have been at least as big as Deva. I think his first movie was phenomenal.
  
  Now, onto more one time wonders. Didn't A.V. Ramanan direct music for one early Vijayakanth movie? I know he sang in at least two movies, including Manmatha Leelai. This is just for trivia's sake. I'm certainly not an AVR fan.

  Kalyani Menon - In Tamil films, I've only heard her one song, I think it is Kaadhal Oviyam Kanden, a Ghazal like beauty be IR. I think ARR uses her in his chorus, but am not sure, can anyone shread some light on this? Thanks.....

  Rajaraman: I think you maybe right, it was Nee Varuvaai, not Kadhal Oviyam. These songs I heard when I was about very young, in the late 70's and my re-collection fails me. I read in the Sujatha thread about Kadhal Oviyam, so you must be right. Thanks.
