Hi guys. There have been a lot of threads on SPB, and i acknowledge his greatness and what he has done for the industry, but what about Hariharan? I personally think that Hariharan is at his prime and i would prefer to hear a sweet melodic song from HH. I dunno, wat do u think?

So anyhow- Hariharan has done some beautiful songs. ok pronounciation is a slight glitch, but the way in which he can mix classic and western i think is great. wen i hear him sing there seems to be somtin more emotional.

I think Unnikrishnan is the finest film singer today. His grounding in carnatic Music is unmatched even by the great Yesudas. Let us not even bring Hariharan in the picture. His feeble attempts at Carnatic Music is really pathetic!

Unni Krishnan has a good voice (though I think it is annoyingly effeminate at times). But when it comes to diction/language pronunciation, he is among the industry's WORST, including Hariharan!
It is very evident in his Carnatic concerts. And Unni's film songs are not exceptions either!
hariharan is good only in one genre of songs: taht is ghazal or soft-romantic numbers. he is definitely not versatile.
I fail to understand the fact that while he (hariharan) took great pains to master the language Urdu before stepping into the world of north Indian music, he never bothered to pay attention when it came to singing in his mother tongue, Tamizh.
I guess we Tamilians are not so demanding when it comes to a singer's diction.

According to the above list of "ranking" it would seem (by the top three in male/female tamil singer category) that we are all iLichcha vaai pattalam...

Hello people!
all of u seem to b feeling really bad abt hari's diction!
yes u r rite he is not comfortable with his mother tongue but did u listen to him in kaasi ?
he (Hari) has really made an effortin pronounciation which should b appreciated!
Hari is one singer who entertains!
The thing i LOVE the most in Hari is the fact that he EMOTIONALLY FEELS very word in the song that he sings.It makes the listener that much more sensitive to the song.I donno abt others but when i listen to him sing i am only filled with an eternal BLISS which caries me to other worlds.
I am sure there are other people who share this passion with me ! I love to see him sing the way he does for a very long time to come and make many many more souls like me happy !

hariharan though sings well never gives any life to the lyrics . He is an excellent ghazal singer but an ordinary film music singer.
