yaroo, perfect, you have the truth,
"where I said bd music was not good-I will stop posting here in DF! "
yes!, imho, you have spoken everything other than music, but this is a forum where we are supposed to discuss music. so if i/you cannot show a place where you have discussed music, sorry!..you got discuss music only here. also as per you statement I conclude arr music was good. thats all. you can try forum hub where you can trash or hug ALW and his BD. Now you got to think! b4 or infact after you type.:)

going by your logic-this is a forum for tamil film music-why are discussing BD music which is a)not a film(unless you are living in some world where BD is tamil-we do not know)
b)even if it is in tamil,it is a musical-a stage drama
c)songs are not in tamil-but in english.
answer these 3 qs and you can post further in this thread.

Well said, Yaaro
I was beginning to wonder why we discuss BD and TLOBS in this forum when they are not TFM. Shall we stick to discussions about ARR and his contribution to TFM.

>>>At the very most, it has two good numbers out of twenty. But both are old. Chaiyya Chaiyya is from Dil Se. The other one, Shakalaka Baby, was originally a Tamil hit. <<<<
Says a lot of Karan Thapar's views on "good" songs and "Tamil" songs.
VERY CLEAR, he has a personal dislike here.
What does he mean, the tunes are not memorable.
He should have added a IMHO after his statement.
Did Shekar Kapur or ARR refuse him an interview ?

Secondly, from Karan Thapar's article :
>>If you read the programme carefully you’ll discover that a gentleman called Marius de Vries has a hand in it. Who knows how large? <<<
This is the bane of our TV Presenters and showmen from Delhi. They have this attitude that successful Indian creative folk "lift" from Hollywood. Maybe it's a reality in Bollywood but blindly branding every successful artiste from India as a lame duck is what makes my blood boil.
Karan Thapar clearly puts down the achievement of "desi" ARR by saying things like "Who knows how large?". Not a very healthy attitude.

Sorry..a mistake in my first posting. Karan Thapar has infact acknowledged Shakalaka Baby as a good song. Mistake and Egg on my face !
Any way to delete postings you have posted by mistake ?!! :-o

To all:
I am an arr fan but in no way hc. I do accept that BD has indian songs and it has got mixed reviews, and not yet a big Success but i have to disagree with the above review.
getting back to the article, this article deserves no credit and whatever this guy must be ignored reasons are as follows
- he seems to hate rahman, it is visble from his style of writing.
- Songs not memorable....... again he is full of sh#@$, i agree the rivews are mixed, but i havent seen a review balming the music, they r all in praise or are neutral, this a^%$ just goes bang bang on the music.
- he says the sets are cheap tacky....... i read reviews from the british press and even the critics say the sets esp, the slums and opening scene are great, in fact all reviews give the visuals a BIG plus.
- "Marius de Vries has a hand in it" what the F*&^
for making that statement ill........ anyway this is the first guy to come up with such outrageous and BULL S*&^ what does he want to say, that arr's name was used for the 2 songs and all other songs were not by him and rahmans a jack ass?
- One of the songs – Love’s Never Easy – reminds me of something I’ve heard before: this lines enoughto prove the guys knows nothing of what hes talking about. I mean he doesnt know that this song is ISHQ BINA but he knows Don MaClean’s Starry Starry Night. i bet he doesnt even know whoodon mclean is!!!!!!
- LOYD WEBBER ARR DISASTER...... this guy just wants to use his media to defame BD and esp. ARR.
- the guy is old.
- he says london is cold now??????, my a#@!$
I am sure there are a lot more points but thats all i have time to write. In a sentence, This guy has no knowledge and has no right to criticise, i feel he wants to show off as a critic! Trust me critics need the thing inside the skull.
Anyone here who agrees with my observations

This sites has midis of Don McLean's 'Starry starry night' - also called as 'Vincent', its actually based on Van Gogh's painting 'Starry night'!
Yes, it starts a wee bit like Ishq Bina (the original of 'Love's never easy' but the resemblance is very very minimal...its more like a frame of mind...I mean if you decide that it does sound similar you are bound to think of this McLean number on the same lines...try the link!

ALW is entitled to his opinions-he has proved himself to be the ultimate ARR fan who spent 4 million pounds-30 crore rupees-to bring him to london! talk about the idle english rich!
BTW-I am not a ARR hater.I do like him-but he is not on top of my list that is all.

Who asked for the comments of these Ilayaraja boot-licking nut cases?
If these people were to appreciate ARR's music, then God help TFM.
These kind of people deserve the stuff dished out by IR. So go and stuff yourself with sounds from Devan et al and quit trying to comment on ARR's music.

That's correct ashok.
Go all over the net and give the same link EVERY day. For your one link, others can show you many more positive links. But you will choose to be blind.
If I were you, I will head for the nearest fire station immediately. It is very obvious that you and your lot have a severe case of "stomach burning." And while running to the station, keep on shouting, "Down with all Indians except Ilayaraja." At least then, you will be transparent.
