Unearthing Rare Golden Oldies of TFM into MP3s

There are many many wonderful songs in old TFM (especially belonging to the period before 1980) which many of us have heard and enjoyed in the days of their popularity, but, as years rolled by those songs came to be heard only rarely. This thread is an attempt to unearth such golden oldies. Those who have longed to hear such songs can make a "nEyar viruppam" request here. In response, those who have the songs can convert them into MP3s and share it with others here. Through sites like coolgoose.com and Yahoo briefcase, it is now possible to do such sharing easily.

As rare songs are unearthed and brought out as MP3s, it would be natural to listen to them and discuss them here, so that this thread does not simply become just a set of requests and supplies.

My sister Sathya Kabali has a large collection of rare TFM goldies in cassettes and she is in the process of converting them into MP3s and putting them in coolgoose. The songs she has uploaded are available at this link:

  wow!!!! who composed the fantastic explosive carnatic based song by SPB - Aval oru menakai?!!!!
  
  let me take a guess here - It can't be SGanesh or Gangai Amaran (did look like a SG tune more thanGA), it can't be IR (because the flow and orchestration is different), it can't be MSV or KVM, the rhythm is very thick and too fast, it could be GKV or Rajan Nagendra or Vijaya Bhasker. Mostly, it is Vijaya Bhasker or GKV. Anyone can help?
  
  This song takes the cake - it ranks alongside as a numero uno like Paatum Naane Bhaavavum Naane (i suppose same raga)

  sk, isai_nanban, Natchathiram was remade from the Telugu film Sivaranjini( directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, and I think with Jayasudha in the title role). Music was by Ramesh Naidu. S-G lifted Ramesh Naidu's composition.
  
  Natchathiram had other good songs too. SJ's 'Vaigai karaiyinil oru paravai' is an unforgettable melody. 'Vaanam ingey mannil vandhadhu' is a gentle JC-SJ duet. 'Ponnangani poothu vandhadho' is a breeezy SPB-PS dappanguthu number.
  
  The modest success of Neeya encouraged Sripriya to take to production again, but Natchathiram, though a well made film, failed to deliver. And this in spite of the fact that Sripriya had managed to rope in a galaxy of stars like Sivaji, Kamal, Rajini, Savithri, KR Vijaya to make special appearances.

  sk, Saravanan: thanks for the info. I was goin to ask sk if it was not that SG copied form some original song of some other composer. Ramesh Naidu, my God, amazing, amazing song. This song used to be so popular in radio Srilanka in those days. Now, i remember the others songs in the movie also. SG has a unique talent in bringing home songs of other composers that sound like their own! (Example Neeya, Unnai Ethanai Murai and Ore Jeevan!)
  
  There is another song - Ramba, Oorvasi, Menaka, I think this one is also by Ramesh Naidu, come to think of the style.
  
  Does Telugu films have really good songs? (All that i saw on TV was Chakravarthi' third rate dance songs.)

  i_n, there are very good songs in telugu movies also. dance songs are also there. what is the present day situation in TFM? Most of the movies have such songs only.
  
  yesterday It happened to watch the movie Pillaiyar in Podhigai. There was a very good JC-PS duet in that movie.
  "Marahathath thoranam vaasalil asaindthida mannavan varavu kandaall".
  PSuseela and Jayachandran had done a real great job. Who is the music director for that movie? There is one more song "Yaarai vannangidal vendum" by Soolamangalam Rajalakshmi. Can anyone upload these two songs?

  Sorry, I dont have Kandhar Alangaram songs. I have songs from movies viz. Thirumal perumai, Kandhan Karunai, Varuvan Vadivelan, Thiruvilaiyadal, Thirumalai Thenkumari, Agathiyar, Thiruvarul, Thunaivan & Adhiparasakthi. But Kandhar Alangaram is missing in that collection.
