AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  all songs sung by karthick were good..
  
  boom boom would be good if adnan sami hadnt sung that..b'se of him , that song is totally disturbed.

  i take exception to razia's statement.
  the current trend is mainly due to piracy.when ppl download the music insted of buying cd or tapes how can companies be assured of returns ? downloading of music was not so prevelant during release of indian or other movies and hence this trend.
  read the article carefully and you will see that the same article mentions that duplicate tapes are available at throwaway prices.so it has got nothing to do with the downslide in popularity of the composer
  everyone knows rahman is the widely selling artist beating so many other famous music ppl around the world.
  i fully agree raja is a musical genius.no doubt in that.but who was responsible for his downfall ? raja himself.
  if he had not picked up fights with vairamuthu and manirathnam,kb etc who at that time ruled the industry there would be no rahman now.
  i find that newtfmpage people are highly biased.either raja or rahman.
  i still listen to edho mogham of ilayaraja and also ale_ale from boys.
  let us put forth some intresting meaningful discussions and let not newtfmpage meander into a fighting arena between arr and raja supporters.

  Th ereason they only took 60000 cassettes and cds is because pirated copies are selling for 15 rs. And then if you look at this web site all u find is...."Hey some one put up the Mp3s","WHere can i find teh MP3's" etc etc. So they arent takin a risk by ordering more.You'll find this with all teh music now.

  as i mentioned earlier ,they have manufactured the same no of cassetes nd cd's........but now the truth is ,sales have picked up drastically that the manufacturers deamand has gone up by 10 times.......thats same as ny arr+shankar ovie....and its even slated 2 sell more than their previous movies....
