Why is IR not using SPB at all thses days

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

it is very disappinting to note that IR has not been giving songs to SPB at all in his recent films even when ARR is giving atleast one song in every movie ?

the best period of TFM and IR was only when SPB sang immortal melodies for IR.

Is IR not in good terms with SPB ?

  i am also surprised. i think there must be some s misunderstanding between them. otherwise it is very difficult to imagine ir without spb. spb the most versatile and best ever in India even now will definitely improve the quality of songs from the maestro ir.

  IR is very defensive these days. He is somewhat forced by the heros, producers and directors to use the new singers. Otherwise, I bet all songs in kaasi would have been by SPB... It's all time, what can we say?

  I even went of the extent of requesting someone in India to pass the message on to the Maestro that he should use SPB when he is still doing well. I mean, SPB is the only singer who can take otherwise really normal songs to stratospheric heights. I am sure there is no ego issue here because KR and YSR use him in all their movies..and YSR makes sure the best song of the movie is for SPB.
  Why is IR not using SPB when he can use Kartik,HH and all other singers.Its a decision I am sure is not too good.
  I only hope someone can pass on the msg to the Maestro that all his fans are waiting for the magic combo to be back in action..

  PS : I just listened to Avarampoo and the combo shines in Sami Kitta and Adukkumalli..

  ever since "friends" , there hasn't been any spb-ir combo,perhaps the greatest chemistry tht ruled the roost over a decade and a half... i believe spb and ir aren't in good terms... or else ir wud n't have gone in for spb for almost all the songs in "kadhal rojave". otherwise 6 songs for HH in a single film,however good a singer he mite be, is quite unlike ir's ventures, given how HH compares with the simply SuPerB in versatility. all the same,i think spb is quite underused nowadays, when set against his yesteryear domination. i dunno y ppl cannot use him when hez still goin

  Fan, YSR said that, he will use SPB for most pf his movies, & he has done what he has said, eg, Nandha, Kadhal samrajyam, ...etc!, have u notice ARR started using SPB back nowadys, eg, Bab, Kadhal Virus, Alli Arjuna, Telugu version of Kanthail Muthamittal, Telugu version of Parthale paravasam,..etc.
  
  BTW have u guys heard of "Yenthan vanin" by SPB from kadhal virus, it's simply superb!

  There got to be some misunderstanding between IR and SPB, probably they are not in good terms. It is very unfortunate for mucic fans. It was indeed a golden era in the 80's.

  Its not a big deal if an ego problem exists between the two. Inspite of being a musical genius Ilayaraja is know to have lot of ego problems unless people keep him equivalent to god. I have personally met SPB and i know he is a gem of a person, very down to earth. I have never met IR but people who have met Ilayaraja donot convey the same feelings. But if there is something wrong between them then its real bad for IR as he has managed to get into bad terms with the most liked person in the south indian film industry.

  IR has no problems with SPB.. It's just the trend these stupid young MDs have created and unfortunately IR is forced to follow it.. It's just a matter of marketing and IR has no control over marketing.. In cine industry, we all know if one trend succeeds every one would follow it..
  
  Everybody loves SPB... there is this 2% of the crowd think SPB is no great...let's just ignore them...
  
  Personally, I don't care if SPB does not sing that often for IR. They have given us thousands of songs to listen and enjoy and that's enough for me for my entire lifetime... Adutha jenmam eduthalum ithey nizhalgal, kathal oviyam etc.. etc.. etc.. etc.. -vai than ketka virumbugiren..

  correction: Change 'young MDs' to 'new MDs' -- afer all they are not young but just 'new' recycle masters!! Sure they will all disappear like passing clouds and soon IR and SPB will join hands and give us lot more melodies (hmmm what a wish!)

  If SPB is talented, why should he depend on IR, it's simply because no other MD can give you good enough songs like in the 80's like pani villum malarvanam or "paadum vaanam paadi"...... or like in "payanangal mudivathillai"
  Only IR can do it, no one else can, not even ARR

  I don't agree with you. I am also IR's fan. But we should underestimate other music directors. Vidyasaher gave a big hit song Malare-karna.

  hey comon fans... its always a period during which the artist will be at peak.. yester years,it was with TMS and PSusheela... then came SPB,KJY, SJ, Chitra... I agree the span for TMS and PS were for more than 20 years... but now the change is towards using different voices like Unni krishnan, Unni menon, Hariharan, Harish, Karthik etc... young voice and suits all the young heros... what is wrong in giving opportunity to these people... one artist cannot always rule the music world... again I say tamil film world is going towards frequent changes with differnt styles; may be due to that SPB Charan and Vijay yesudas are not able to come up as they have similar style and voice of their dad's.

  I agree that there are a few good MD's out there, but the song you mentioned disappoints me.
  It's a wrong use of the raaga in which V Sagar shows his inabilty to compose. Every rhythmic phrase in music has to have an answer, in this song, he leaves the point blank,or, repeats the previous rhythmic phrase with different notes(but the same rhythm) after the blank, which is wrong thing to do based on structural composition/writing. This shows the lack of V Sagar's knowledge in music(both in carnatic and western classical music). Try listening to good future MD's like KR etc. He is very promising!

  SPB is not effective as Sri PJ.He is just avg above avg singer but Sri PJ is the best of all.
