Dear Friends,

Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!

I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!

  I've seen lots of emails encouraging people (read non-Tamils) to vote for Vande Maatharam. considering the numbers (of non-Tamils), it looks like it is going to be a tough race.

  Vj - may be they thought of bringing someother "thamizhaaan" to the first spot..... well, "thamizhaaan" thaaan varanumnu mudivu pannitaa, say, may be if the other "thamizhaaan"s song had been in the 1st place - is it ok for you :-).... just wondering what would "this" thamizhaaan's fans would have said - same right ("adhellaaam oru paaataa..... andha kaaalathila enga thaaalaaivaar podathaaa paata....").

  I have a few questions, probably posters close to IR and/or Rajangham members who visit this site can answer it.
  
  Does IR know that his song has been voted No.1 world's Top 10? What is his Reaction? Does he care?
  
  I see a popup on Rajangham Site and since Rajangham says that it puts up things on its site only after letting Raja know, I am guessing they have already informed him.

  If we believe we are able to sustain lead of "Rakkamma" , i think we can nominate these 33 songs to supercede Beatles with 32 nominations. Or, we can vote for a second IR song in the top ten. Choose from the first two, and for other choices my friends and I have sent around 12 songs so far seeing that Rakkamma is in no.1. But, we cannot be fooled as last minute some surprise could happen.   hello guys,
  I am now in india on vacation... I went for lakshman sruti's light music concert two days ago and had a chance to see SPB live in kamaraj hall. Great show from SPB. He started off with ponn malai pozhudhu, then ilaya nila and so on. He sang about 15 songs. Just before wrapping up the show, he mentioned about the 'adi rakamma' song. He praised IR and requested the audience to give a standing ovation for that.. I tried to talk to him in person but the organizers did not allow me to meet him... anyway, just wanted to share the small info with you guys....
