  Thathalikuthay - Sadana sargam, karthik, tippu
  Chellamay chellam - Hariharan, Sheriya ghoshal
  Kathal vanoli - Sujatha, harish
  Mutaikul - Bavatharani
  Pillai thamarai - Madhu balakrishnan
  Thalam poo -IR, Sargam
  Nilave Nilave - Shanker Mahadevan, Tippu
  Songs 1,2 and 6(IR song) sound refreshing. Sivamani has played the drums. If i am not wrong Shanker Mahadevan has sung for KR for the first time. Since i am a hardcore KR fan my opnions may be biased. But its worth listening. Maynot get the desired response given the fact that BABA is doing rounds. But the music is really soothing. No groovy, jazzy, rocky stuff. Except the last number all others are wonderful melodies. All in my humble perspective

  but film directors and producers can not use this
  great composer I am sorry for the directors and producers,but so far he has done excellent work
  with his music composition.Karthink don't worry
  about these people they have to worry about you.

  A very good 'album' fusing folk, western and carnatic strains seamlessly. A good follow-up to DDD, this one is another showcase to KR's versatility. PiLLaithAmarai is a top song. A soft, soothing album that suggests a simple, uncomplicated movie.

  decent quality of lyrics - kapilan, muthukumar and thamarai
  
  Madhu B mars his otherwise deft handling of 'PiLLaithAmarai' by his twisting of 'vizhi' as 'viLi', not once, but several times through the song.

  I think KR is the MD for Priyadarshan's next tamil venture "Raaga - A musical love story" Saw the ads in Sun Tv although it was a commercial for Tide washing powder. The movie is a low budget movie. Priyan in an interview told rediff that he proposed to do a movie based on Kumbakonam background with ARR scoring the music. In that interview he told that ARRs music is the only seeling point given a star cast which was relatively new. If this news is true KR has started going places. Is KR the MD for maniratnam's next home production "Five star"?

  I dunno abt Sriram Parasuram's ability as an MD but he is an excellent violinst and a very carnatic and hindustani singer....i had been to his concerts twice...he was just amazing.

  Believe me or not - Karthik Raja has come back with a beautiful album this time - I would rate this as better than his DDD and Ullaasam ....
  
  I got the Cassette saturday evening and have listened to it atleast 10 times after that ... All the 7 songs are wonderful and KR has shown his talent and variety ... I feel this is the only movie in the recent past that can call itself as 'musical' !
  
  My Pick in the album is "kaathal Vaanoli", "Sellamaay Sellam", "PiLLaith thaamarai" and "thaazhamboo" ...
  
  It is good to hear IR in a duet song - after his series of 'sogap paattukaL', his voice is very refreshing and really lights the 'thazhamboo' song ... I am NOT going to talk anything about this lady Sadhana Sargam !

  Such a glowing review coming from you, this album has really stirred my curiosity. Lemme listen to it online from some site right away....btw, any 'ragasiyamai' (DDD) kind of carnatic fusion numbers in Album? KR does such numbers really well.

  Yes, I am very much happy with what KR has done for this movie ... I always believed he had the talent, but somewhere he was missing things .. not even one single album by KR I could say 'complete', everything had atleast one or two 'not-so-good' compositions ... (all IMHO !)
  
  But this time no complaints from me ... :-) (Ofcourse, except Sadhana Sargam for two songs and Madhu Balakrishnan's wrong pronounciation for 'vizhi' ... funny part is, he sings 'mezhugu' properly, But 'viLi' instead of 'vizhi !)
  
  I am not the right person to talk abt. technical beauty of these songs ... athellaam ungaLai maathiri periya aatkaL sonnaa naan kaettuppaen :-)

  naga,i got the cassette and the songs are good.i am waiting to hear a good review from you."Sellamai Sellam" by Hariharan and Devadas fame shreya ghosle is amazing though it reminds sutrum bumi from dum dum dum and ullam kollai poguthey song from the same movie at many places.what do u say naga.madhubalakrishnan's song is o.k and might be because of high expectation after reading reviews from TFM page
