www.galatta.com have released two samples from HJ's Kakka Kakka. The samples have a techno-rock flavor and shows the worsening of HJ's already awful bizarre experimentation.
I am not looking forward to it.
Heard 'Kalyanamthan' is a hit in madras. If our "makkal" call these songs good while rejecting YSR and ARR then god alone should save our "makkal".
ARR sure is falling rapidly album by album. But YSR is revolutionary!

hey dinesh...
maybe you should ask the producers of parasuram ..for some money to carry on this proganda for parasuram...
if u cant call that junk.. what else is junk??compare with kakka kakka.. parasuram will find itself in shitholes....
maybe the album rocking your country is deep down in the pits...try getting it out of the rocks!!

Don't matter how u critize Harris Jayaraj... he is rocking with some excellent albums like Saamy and Kaaka Kaaka. He is setting new trends in the industry and i wish him all my best. I would have to say that the Uyirin Uyirae song is probably the best of the year so far...
Parasuram was good to hear and contained good mixing,, but the sad part is that they all sound the same. I hope we can expect more from Boyz. I had a chance to listen to the theme song for Boyz and let me tell you, its revolutionary...
Last but not least... some of the other songs that i enjoyed so far includes, Devathayai Kandaen from KADHAL KONDAEN..
Also,, Kudos to YSR for some excellent songs from WINNER..
bye for now..

well, after a long time I got to hear the lyrics of an album clearly. Kudos to Harris. Good work by the lyricist and the singers. Kaakka kaakka is the best album of the lot this year, without a doubt and it has the potential to go places. Three songs stand out, Uyirin uyire, Ondra renda and voru vooril.

HJ continues to impress me after his Saamy and now with KK.
'UyirinUyire','Onra renda',
'Thoodhu varuma' are very catchy. 'Ennai konjam' seems to be an extension of 'Thoodhu varuma' although I prefer the former to 'Ennai konjam'.
There is no bad element in this album .

Mythila -
How and what were the "impressive" moments in the albums you mention? And what defines "bad element" in your books? Just curious.
I am currently working on a piece on these new releases...and an elaboration from you might just open my ears to nuances I might have missed.
Only if you feel up to it though.

thank god, that this thread is getting back to discussing the album and not some personal quirks. I heard 'kaaka kaakka' and I personally feel it is a great album. 'Uyirin, Uyire' and Ondra renda are great songs, complete in all respects and addictive. Others are just so, so.....Ennai konjam maatri, I think was an experiment....let us see if it works.....

Kaakha kaakha is mind-blowing. Groovy music, great lyrics and good voices creating a great album. Here is my opinion on each of those songs....
1) Uyirin Uyire - the best song of the lot. Great music (gives an abstract effect, kudos to Harris) highlighting the mood of the song and some of the best lines that have been written in the recent past......'nadiyin madiyil', yugangal endru vedam maari vide, it just grows on you. Reminds one of 'Andhi mazhai' or A.r Rahman's with Unni Menon's voice for Mani Ratnam's Tamil version of Dil se, I forgot the lyrics....except that this sounds much more mature. A song for the lonely nights, not for the picnic....
2) vondra iranda aasaigal.....
Comes a close second in the album, imagine that two classics in one album. And though comparisons with 'vaseegara' are inevitable, I think this song will stand out on its own. Great tune, beautiful lyrics and a great voice.....what more does one want....haunts you. I think Ilayaraja would have been proud of the song.....
3) voru vooril -
Simple tune, karthik's voice sounds too mature for the song. Good lyrics (I think it is the first time, a woman is writing about the beauty of a woman, all along it has been men writing about women), but I will reserve the result, till it hits the theatres, coz though I think it is a good bet, it is a bit slow.....
4) Thoodhu varuma.....
A different kind of a vamp song, if I may say so. Depends on the picturisation to become a hit......
5) Ennai konjam maattri....
Simple lyrics, too simple for Thamarai, I would say, too many changes in the tune, but it is not a bad song.....and maybe it will grow on me, for some of you, it seems the best song......
